Cameron Beckman

Beckman was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was raised in the Twin Cities suburb of Burnsville. He graduated from Burnsville Senior High School in 1988. He attended Texas Lutheran University, where he majored in Art and was a member of the golf team. Beckman was the 1991 NAIA individual champion. He graduated and turned pro in 1993.
Beckman was the 1994 Lone Star Tour Player of the Year. He sturggledStruggled through Q-School in 1996 and '97 before he finally finished T-8th in 1998, thus getting his card for 1999. Played full-time on the PGA Tour between 1999 and 2016, played in 428 events making 230 cuts with 23 top-ten finishes, and earned $9,870,919.
He earned his first win on the PGA Tour at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic in 2001. Seven years later, at the 2008 Frys.com Open at the Greyhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, Beckman shot a final round 63 to force a playoff against Kevin Sutherland. Beckman won the tournament with a par on the second playoff hole to get his second PGA Tour victory and secure his card for the 2009 and 2010 PGA Tour seasons. He earned his third PGA Tour title at the 2010 Mayakoba Golf Classic with a two-stroke win over 54-hole leader Joe Durant and Tour rookie Brian Stuard. Beckman finished with a three-under-par 67. The event was held at the Mayakoba Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Beckman played full-time on the Korn Ferry Tour in 1997 and 2013. In 65 events played, he made 26 cuts was in the top-ten six times, and his best finish was T-3rd in the 2006 LaSalle Bank Open.
At the end of 2019, he went to the PGA Tour Champions Qualifying tournament and didn't get his card finishing T-21st.
2020 & 2021 Notes: Played in 25 PGA Tour Champions events with four top-tens and finished 42nd in the Charles Schwab Cup. In limited play was a qualifier and finished T-10th at the 2020 Pure Insurance Championship after shooting a first-round 65. Also was T-10th at the TimberTech Championship, five shots back of winner Darren Clarke. At the 2021 Dick's Sporting Goods Open, Beckman shot a final nine 32 to overcome a three-shot deficit and beat Ernie Els to win for the first time on the PGA Tour Champions. With that, he became a full-time member. He was T-4th at the Furyk & Friends, six shots back of winner Phil Mickelson. He ended his season with a T-30th finish at the TimberTech Championship.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 PGA Tour Champions events with one top-ten finish. He was 65th in the Schwab Cup rankings and 65th on the money list, earning $228,119. After an opening round 64 at the Hoag Classic, he finished T-10th. The last event on tour finished T-64th at the Dominion Energy Charity. I went back to PGA Tour Champions Qualifying Tournament and finished T-40th.
2023 Notes: Was T-11th at the Invited Celebrity Classic.
