Fabrizio Zanotti

Zanotti was born in Asuncion and was introduced to the game at the age of two when he used to run behind his father with a small stick and a ball. He went on to become Paraguay's top-ranked amateur player for six years before turning professional in 2003. In 2006 Zanotti won the Tour de las Americas Order of Merit with victory at the final event of the season, the Abierto Mexicano Corona. The tournament was also the second event on the 2007 Challenge Tour schedule, and the win enabled him to join the tour for the remainder of the season. He ended the season in 11th place on the Challenge Tour Rankings to graduate to the top-level European Tour for 2008. In his rookie season on the European Tour, Zanotti finished 153rd on the Order of Merit to lose his place on the tour. However, he regained his card for 2009 by finishing 16th at the end of season qualifying school. Guaranteed his card for 2010 when he finished 2nd at the Open de Espana. It was one of three top-ten finishes as he finished 63rd in the Race to Dubai.
2010 Notes: Had his second career runner-up finish at KLM Open. That along with a T-10th at the Madrid Masters were his only top-tens of the year, finished 75th in the Race to Dubai.
2011 Notes: Only top-ten of the year was a 3rd at the Czech Open. With 29 starts ended up 100th in the Race to Dubai.
2012 Notes: Got his third runner-up finish at the Irish Open. Also was T-6th at the Volvo China Open he finished 69th in the Race to Dubai.
2013 Notes: Had a rough year, best finish was T-16th at the Italian Open. Only made ten cuts in 27 starts finishing 140th in the Race to Dubai. Lost his European Tour card and in qualifying was 2nd regaining his card for 2014.
2014 Notes: Played in 28 European Tour events making 18 cuts with 5 top-tens. Zanotti won his first European Tour event at the BMW International Open. The win made Zanotti the first Paraguayan to win on the European Tour. Also had a T-3rd at the Madeira Islands Open and T-5th at the Lyoness Open. Was 38th in the Race to Dubai with euros894,309 of earnings.
2015 Notes: Played in 22 European Tour events making 13 cuts with 4, top-tens. Best finish was T-2nd at the British Masters, 2 shots back of winner Matthew Fitzpatrick. Also was T-3rd at the Italian Open and 4th at the KLM Open. His season had two halves to it, he didn't make a cut until the end of May missing his first 7 starts. After that had 7 top-25 finishes in 11 starts. Was 58th in the Race to Dubai with euros677,493.
2016 Notes: Played in 22 European Tour events making 16 cuts with just 2, top-tens. Best finishes, T-7th BMW PGA Championship and T-9th Volvo China Open. Was 66th in the Race to Dubai with euros525,944.
2017 Notes: Played in 23 European Tour events making 16 cuts with 4 top-tens.Returned back to the winner's circle with a 1 shot victory at the Maybank Championship. Also had another top-ten with aT-3rd at the Omega European Masters T-5th at the Shenzhen International and T-8th at the Turkish Airlines Open. Finished 25th in the Race to Dubai.
2018 Notes: Played in 16 European Tour events making nine cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 112th in the Race to Dubai. Started his year with a T-9th at the Abu Dhabi Championship. Best finish, T-7th at the NBO Oman Open.
2019 Notes: Played in 23 European Tour events making 16 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 78th in the Race to Dubai. At the Oman Open had the third-round lead but shot a final round 74 to finish T-2nd, a shot back of winner Kurt Kitayama. Was T-7th at the Maybank Championship. Ended his season with a T-38th finish at the Turkish Airlines Open.
2020 Notes: Played in 11 European Tour events making seven cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 142nd in the Race to Dubai. Best finish T-7th at the Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open.
2021 Notes: Played in 17 European Tour events making 15 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 62nd in the Race to Dubai. In his first start of the season was T-7th at the Abu Dhabi Championship. Was T-4th a the Andalucia Masters, four shots back of winner Matt Fitzpatrick.
2022 Notes: Was T-8th at the Betfred British Masters. Finished T-4th at the Horizon Irish Open five shots back of winner Adrian Meronk. He was tied with David Law and John Catlin, all three earned a spot in the 2022 Open Championship at St. Andrews.
