Jon Curran

Earliest golf memory is playing the Pepsi Little Peoples golf tournament and traveling with his dad. Was No. 1 on Hopkinton High School golf team with good friend and No. 2 Keegan Bradley that won the Massachusetts state championship his junior year (Bradley's senior year) by 28 shots. Bradley was the medalist, with Curran finishing among the top three. Semifinalist at the 2004 U.S. Junior Amateur.
After Vanderbilt and turning pro in 2009, Curran played on the NGA Tour, Hooters Tour and the eGolf Tour. In 2013 he was the NGA Tour Player of the Year. Same year finished T-42nd at the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament.
2014 Notes: May of played in 23 Web.Com Tour, but it was the tale of two years in one. In his first 10 starts up to his T-4th at the Cleveland Open, he had a win (Brasil Champions), T-3th (BMW Charity Pro-Am) and 6 top-15 finishes. But his next 13 starts was terrible, he only made 2 cuts with a T-22nds at the News Sentinel Open. Still he secured his 2015 PGA Tour card for the first time at the conclusion of the Regular Season in late August (12th on the money list). He needed that since he missed the cut in all four Final series.
2015 Notes: In his rookie season, claimed five top-10 finishes in 28 starts. With rounds of 68-72-67-70, finished T-8th at the season-opening Frys.com Open. Next top-10 came at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, where rounds of 69-64-69-70 led to a T-10th finish, 7 behind champion Brandt Snedeker. Bogeyed the 18th hole to drop into a five-man playoff at the Puerto Rico Open in what was his 17th career PGA Tour start and his first career playoff. Lost in the overtime session to Alex Cejka on the first extra hole. His last two top-10s were a T-6th at the AT&T Byron Nelson and T-10th at the Travelers Championship. Finished 113th in the FedEx Cup standings and 95th on the money list.
2016 Notes: Closed with matching 4-under 66s on the weekend to finish 4th at The RSM Classic. Posted four sub-par scores at the Valero Texas Open for a share of 9th place with three others. In his first appearance at the Memorial Tournament, opened with 68-67-68 before a 2-under 70 resulted in a sudden-death playoff with William McGirt. Playing in the penultimate grouping, he missed a 15-foot putt on the 72nd hole. Also narrowly missed from 25 feet on the first playoff hole for the win but his par was matched by McGirt, who made a spectacular recovery from a greenside bunker. Bogeyed the second extra hole when his approach into 18 went long, leaving a difficult up-and-down. His tap-in bogey was no match for McGirt?s par. The runner-up result was his third top-10 finish this season and his second playoff defeat of his career.
