Patrick Rodgers

Rodgers was born in Avon, Indiana. He played college golf at Stanford University for three years, winning 11 times, tying the record set by Tiger Woods. Rodgers was given the Ben Hogan Award and was the No.1-ranked golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 16 weeks in early 2014. They played on two U.S. Walker Cup teams in 2011 & '13. After becoming professional in June 2014, Rodgers played on the PGA Tour via sponsor exemptions. Their best finish was T-39th at the Barracuda Championship. Added a T-8th at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.
2015 Notes:
He made 12 of 17 PGA Tour cuts, with two top-10s as a non-member. Earned Special Temporary Membership during the season and parlayed that into a top-125 finish on the FedExCup points list as a non-member to earn PGA Tour membership for the 2015-16 season. He got his first career professional win with a playoff victory over Steve Marino at the Colombia Championship in early February on the Korn Ferry Tour. He rolled in an 8-foot birdie putt on the second extra hole to win in his seventh career start. The victory was worth $144,000 and moved the 22-year-old to No. 1 on the money after two weeks of the season. I would play five more Korn Ferry Tourevents through early May. Finished with seven Korn Ferry Tour starts, one win/one top-10, two top-25s, and five cuts made. Making the most of a sponsor's exemption, Rodgers closed with a 4-under 68, despite a double bogey-bogey finish, to claim a share of 2nd with Webb Simpson at the Wells Fargo Championship. It was his first top-10 on the PGA Tour in his 16th start and 13th as a professional. Was not a member of the PGA Tour but was trying to earn Special Temporary Membership for the remainder of the 2015 PGA Tour season. Came into the week at Quail Hollow Club with 69 equivalent points. He needed a solo-second-place finish (worth 300 non-member points) to get STM. His T-2nd finish, worth 245 non-member points, left him 10 points short. With his T-40th finish at the Memorial three weeks later, he picked up enough non-member points to take Special Temporary Membership. In the Modified Stableford Format at the Barracuda Championship, he picked up 15 points in the first round to sit three points behind leader Zack Sucher. Ensuing results of 6-14-11, for 46 points, resulted in a 3rd-place finish.
