Soren Kjeldsen

Kjeldsen represented Denmark at the Eisenhower Trophy event in 1994 and at the World Cup in 1998, ?99, 2003 and ?04. He turned professional in 1995. Kjeldsen?s success on the second-tier Challenge Tour in 1997, which included his first victory as a professional at the Volvo Finnish Open, secured membership for the European Tour for 1998. He has performed steadily at this level and won his first European Tour title at the 2003 Diageo Championship at Gleneagles.
His second European Tour win came at the 2008 Volvo Masters at Valderrama Golf Club in Andalucia, Spain, where he defeated Martin Kaymer and Anthony Wall by two shots. This was the final staging of the Volvo Masters because, as part of the Race to Dubai introduced in 2009, the European Tour season now concludes at the Dubai World Championship. He ended the year 10th on the Order of Merit, which to date remains his best year-end ranking.
Kjeldsen won his third European Tour event and second consecutive event on Spanish soil with a three-shot win over David Drysdale at the 2009 Open de Andalucia in Marbella, Andalusia, Spain. Also in 2009, he finished 3rd at the BMW PGA Championship, 4th at the Scottish Open, 6th at the PGA Championship and 7th at the WGC-CA Championship.
He finished 2nd at the 2010 Andalucia Masters and the 2011 Volvo China Open. In 2012, he finished 2nd at the Open de España and 5th at the Scottish Open.
2013 Notes: Finished T-8th at the French Open. Opened 69-68 before stalling, with weekend rounds of 73-73. Was 3rd at the ISPS Handa Wales Open in Newport. Shot a final-round 66 at Celtic Manor to record his second top-10 of the season. Finished 10th at the KLM Open, shooting a final-round 66 at Kennemer G&CC. Ended the season ranked 61st in the Race to Dubai.
2014 Notes: Had only one top-10 finish during the European Tour season, a T-3rd at the Real Czech Masters, shooting rounds of 68-70-68-71 to end the event tied with Merrick Bremner, three shots behind winner Jamie Donaldson. Finished the year 103rd in the Race to Dubai.
2015 Notes: Enjoyed a summer to remember in 2015, first winning the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, his first victory in six years, then reaching 500 European Tour appearances at the PGA Championship held at Whistling Straits. Celebrated the milestone the following week on home soil at the Made in Denmark, where he finished T-2nd. Called it the best experience he has had on a golf course when thousands of fans packed the famous 16th hole with flags bearing ?SK500? in the first round, cheering wildly as his tee shot ended inches from the cup. His win at Royal County Down, where he defeated Eddie Pepperell and Bernd Wiesberger in a playoff, ended a frustrating period and sparked a resurgence since turning 40. The week after, he finished 2nd at the Nordea Masters and had another runner-up result at the British Masters. For the year, produced a career-best nine top-10 finishes, including a T-10th at the season-closing DP World Tour Championship. He was 15th in the Race to Dubai.
2016 Notes: Finished T-8th at the Dubai Desert Classic, T-7th at the Masters and T-4th at the Open de Espana. Was T-9th at the British Open. Represented Denmark at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, finishing T-21st in 60-player field. Playing the fall events on the European Tour, he finished T-8th at Made in Denmark, T-7th at the Alfred Dunhill Links and T-4th at the DP World Tour Dubai, which helped him claim the 18th spot in the Race to Dubai. Partnered with Thorbjorn Olesen as team Denmark won the ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf, claiming a four-shot victory at Kingston Heath Golf Club in Australia. Thanks to his top-10 finishes at the Masters and the British Open, Kjeldsen was able to to win enough points to earn a PGA Tour card for 2017.
2017 Notes: Started slowly, missing the cut at all four West Coast Swing events in which he played. Reached the quarterfinals of the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship, but lost to Jon Rahm, finishing the week T-5th. On the European Tour was T-9th at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
