Player Notes:

Wittenberg played collegiately at Oklahoma State University. He lost to Nick Flanagan in the finals of the 2003 U.S. Amateur. Capped a remarkable 2003 amateur season with a berth on the U.S. Walker Cup squad and was the youngest player on either squad to compete in the prestigious event. Went 0-1-1 during the foursome portion of the Walker Cup and 1-1 in singles play.
In 2004, he finished 13th at the Masters Tournament, the lowest amateur finish in 41 years. He was the only player in the field to improve his score each round. Additionally, he registered the lowest Sunday back 9 score (31) of any amateur in Masters history.
At the 2004 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, he shot a four round total of 296, which was the second best of any amateur in the tournament that year. Wittenberg turned professional in 2004 tried to make the tour in his seven events he played in, but only made $85,670.
Went to Q-school and in the 2nd stage unfortunately got caught in a section that had terrible rain. He shot 72-68 and the event had to be shortened which meant that he wasn't able to qualify for either the PGA or the Web.com Tour. Did earn his card on the Canadian Tour by tying for third at its winter qualifying school in Eustis, Fla. Wittenberg finished tied for fourth at a NGA Hooters Tour winter event in February and missed the cut by two strokes at the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, where he played on a sponsor's exemption. Played in nine PGA Tour events in 2005 and could not break into the top-25 in any of those starts. Finally made it through the three stages of PGA Tour Q-School in December, 2007 finishing T80th and earning a Nationwide Tour spot.

Ended the year 164th in FedExCup points and 148th on the money list. Played in all four Web.com Tour Finals events in September, making three cuts. Finished T-28th at Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, T-47th at Chiquita Classic and T-54th at Web.com Tour Championship. Didn't gain enough points and money to keep his PGA Tour card in 2014 so will play on the Web.Com Tour.
