Morten Orum Madsen

When he was young his parents lived for a time in England, Singapore and Portland, Oregon, where Morten graduated at the Tualatin High School. He was twelve years old when he started playing golf, which he did more to please his father. Yet he himself was soon a fanatic.
Father is an engineer and mother is a middle school teacher, has lived in four different countries and is bilingual.
Madsen was on the national team of Denmark and was third at the European Amateur Championship in 2008. Also in 2008 he went to study at Oregon State University.
In 2009 he won the Danish Amateur Strokeplay at his home track, the Silkeborg Golf Club which also produced Denmark's greatest player, Thomas Bjorn. In 2010 Madsen played the Jacques Leglise Trophy on Castelconturbia Golf Club in Italy and the Eisenhower Trophy in Buenos Aires, as a member of the World Amateur team that finished 2nd in 2010.
Madsen played on the Challenge Tour in 2012, where he gained promotion thanks to a 19th place finish in the Rankings, before improving on that category by taking the 19th card at the Qualifying School Final Stage. Earned his Challenge Tour status via the ECCO Tour in 2011, played on Challenge Tour in 20 events and started 2012 with a bang, finishing tied second in his first tournament of the season at the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Classic.
Madsen is a big Manchester United fan.
