Graham Delaet

DeLaet was born and raised in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. It was only natural that the Canadian?s first love was hockey ? a sport he loved to watch and play. But back injuries and the realization that he might not be big enough for a career in hockey led Graham to focus on golf. He attended Boise State University, where he won 10 collegiate tournaments. He was on the Canadian development golf team, organized by the RCGA, from 2005 to 2006, and credited this experience with improving his game. DeLaet finished 2nd as an amateur in the 2005 Edmonton Open, a Canadian Tour event.
He was a member of Canada's amateur team through the 2006 season. Finished second at the 2005 TELUS Edmonton Open as an amateur and won the 2005 and 2006 Saskatchewan Amateur.
Turned professional in the fall of 2006, and the next year made 11 of 14 cuts in his first Canadian Tour season, posted seven top-10 finishes and was named Rookie of the Year.
In 2008, he represented Canada with Wes Heffernan at the OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup in China and finished T-13th. Finished fourth on the Canadian Tour order of merit with a win and two runner-up results...
Ranked No. 1 on the 2009 Canadian Tour order of merit, thanks to a pair of wins and four other top-10 finishes in his nine starts. Named Player of the Year. Won the 2009 BMG Classic in Johannesburg on the South African Tour. Played in his second consecutive World Cup, representing Canada with Stuart Anderson, and finished T-25th. Played in two PGA Tour events prior to rookie season?the 2007 and 2009 Canadian Open, missing the cut in 2007 and finishing T-46th in 2009. Played in five Web.com Tour events with a T-31st at the 2009 Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic his only made cut. At the end of 2009, he finished T-8 at the PGA Tour Q-School, earning his Tour card in 2010.
2010 Notes: Recorded three top-10 finishes, best was T-3 at the Shell Houston Open. With a strong Fall Series, he moved from 129 to 100 on the money list to retain his Tour card for 2011. Big breaks came with a T-5th at the Viking Classic and a T-6 at the Frys.Com Open.
2011 Notes: Sat out the majority of the season with a back injury that could have ended his career and required surgery. In January, had a microdiscectomy in which the part of the herniated disk that was pinching a nerve was removed. DeLaet tried to make his comeback in June but after two events experienced soreness in his back and decided to rest for the remainder of the year.
2012 Notes: Came back strong from his back injury with a first-round 63 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He posted his first top-10 with a T-4th at the Zurich Classic. Got into the FedExCup playoffs as he was ranked 106th, and moved up with a T-5 finish at the Barclays Classic. Missed the cut at Deutsche Bank but he was able to get into the BMW Championship and finished T-37. Ended the year 53rd in the FedEx Cup standings and 95th on the money list, but more important played injury free.
2013 Notes: Stayed injury-free as he posted seven top-10s, including a T-2 at the Barclays. Went into that event 33rd in the FedExCup race. With the good result at the Barclays and a 3rd-place finish at Deutsche Bank, he went on to finish 8th in the FedExCup standings and 21st in earnings with just over $2.8 million which is more he made in his professional career up to 2013. In a hockey tradition, he played the entire four-tournament FedExCup Playoffs season with a beard. Made the Presidents Cup team, going 3-1-1, including a perfect 2-0-0 mark in four-ball and a victory in his singles match. His good play continued through the end of 2013 and start of the wrap-around season.
In the 19 events between the 2013 Barclays and the 2014 Colonial, he recorded nine top-10s, with three runner-up finishes. Finished T-7th at the Byron Nelson in May where he finished at 8-under par. Added another top-ten with a T-7th finish at RBC Canadian Open.
2014 Notes: In 24 events made 14 cuts with seven top-tens. He was runner-up in back to back weeks at the Farmers Insurance Open and Waste Management Phoenix Open. Those were his only top-five finishes. Was 37th in the FedEx Cup standings and 30th on the money list.
2015 Notes: Played in 22 PGA Tour events making 15 cuts with 3, top-tens. Was T-7th at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, T-8th at the Northern Trust (T-8th) and 4th at the Travelers Championship. Finished 112th in the FedExCup race and 104th on in the money race.
2016 Notes: Played in 21 PGA Tour events making 14 cuts with 3 top-ten finishes. Was T-5th at the Valspar Championship, T-7th at the Sony Open in Hawaii and T-8th Barbasol Championship. Was 120th in the FedExCup race and 114th on the money list. Represented Canada and finished 20th at the Olympic games.
2017 Notes: Despite a final round 73 finished T-6th at the RBC Heritage, 3 back of champion Wesley Bryan, T-8th at the Sanderson Farms Championship and T-9th at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
