Robby Shelton

Started playing golf at the age of four years old and credits his dad for introducing him to the game. Shelton attended and played college for three years at the University of Alabama from 2013 to 2016. He turned professional in 2016 after his junior year.
Shelton played on the 2015 Walker Cup team where he posted a record of 2-1. He also played on the U.S. Palmer Cup team in 2014 and 2015.
As an amateur, he finished T-3rd at the 2015 Barbasol Championship on the PGA Tour. This was the highest finish by an amateur in a PGA Tour event since Phil Mickelson in 1991. He also qualified for the 2014 U.S. Open where he missed the cut.
Shelton won the Southern Hills Plantation on the Swing Thought Tour in February 2017, his first professional win. He followed it up with a June win on the PGA Tour Canada en route to finishing second on the tour's money list to earn a promotion to the Korn Ferry Tour.
Two of his four professional victories came within a two-week period in May 2019 on the Korn Ferry Tour: the Knoxville Open and Nashville Golf Open. He currently is a member of the PGA Tour.
2020 Notes: Played in 24 PGA Tour events making 13 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Wa 66th on the Final FedExCup points list. Started his season with a T-7th at the Greenbrier, then a T-6th at the Mayakoba Golf Classic. Had his PGA Tour best finish with a T-3rd at the 3M Open. He shot a final-round 64 to finish three shots back of winner Michael Thompson. In the FedExCup playoffs was T-13th at the Northern Trust and T-59th at the BMW Championship.
2021 Notes: Best finish of the year T-16th at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Will make his second U.S. Open start, and first as a professional, after advancing from the Springfield (Ohio) Country Club final qualifier.
