Every was born in Daytona Beach, Fla., and attended Mainland High School, where he played for the men's golf team. He was recognized as the Volusia County Golfer of the Year four consecutive years, and was an All-State selection after his junior and senior seasons. He walked on at the University of Florida, where he played from 2003 to 2006 and was a three-time First-Team All-SEC selection (2004-2006), and a four-time All-American (2003-2006).
He finished as the low amateur with a T-28th finish at the 2005 U.S. Open and played on winning Walker and Palmer Cup USA Teams. He also won the 2001 International Junior Masters and finished T-27th at Qualifying School in 2007, which put him on the Web.com Tour for 2008.
2008 Web.com Tour Summary: tournaments entered - 26; rounds played - 74; in money - 12; top-10 finishes - four; scoring average - 70.85 (ranked 46th); money - $178,239 (ranked 34th); best finish ? T-16th at the Knoxville News Sentinel.
2009 Web.com Tour Summary: tournaments entered - 26; rounds played - 84; in money - 16; top -10 finishes - four; scoring average - 70.70 (ranked 60th); money - $300,936 (ranked 10th); best finish - won the Nationwide Championship. His top-10 money ranking secured his PGA Tour card for 2010, but he wasn't able to keep it when he finished 160th on the money list.
2011 Web.com Tour Summary: tournaments entered - 20; rounds played - 71; in money - 17; top-10 finishes - four; scoring average - 69.14 (ranked 4th); money - $229,066 (ranked 18th); best finish - second at the Pacific Rubiales Bogota. His top-10 money ranking earned his PGA Tour card for 2012.
2012 Notes: After a 4-under par 66 to start the Sony Open in Hawaii, Every carded back-to-back rounds of 64 and 68 to take the second and third-round lead (shared 54-hole lead with Jeff Maggert). He struggled out of the gate during the final round and was 4-over par through six holes, but rallied with birdies on No. 9, 10 and 18 to finish T-6th. Three months later, he tied his career-low round of 63, a TPC San Antonio course record, in the first round of the Valero Texas Open. His 9-under par was followed by rounds of 74-73-71, earning him runner-up honors with rookie John Huh. He had a birdie putt on the 72nd hole to potentially force sudden-death, but settled for par. Poised to deliver the couple's first child in May, his wife, Danielle, followed her husband all 72 holes and was the first to greet him after completion of play. He ended the season in style with a runner-up finish at the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic. After opening with a 5-under 67 in his second start at the Disney event, he closed with a 4-under 68 to take a share of second place with 2010 champion Robert Garrigus. He had a career year, finishing 67th in the FedExCup race and 40th on the money list, winning $1,972,166.
2013 Notes: He made 17 of 28 cuts on PGA Tour, with four top-10s, including his best, a T-4th at the Crowne Plaza Colonial. He finished 58th in the FedExCup race and 78th on the money list.
2014 Notes: Every picked up his first career win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, less than 60 miles from where he grew up in Daytona Beach. The Palmer event was special because as a junior, his parents drove him to Orlando to watch the play. He entered the final round four strokes behind Adam Scott, and shot a 2-under 70 to claim a one-shot victory over Keegan Bradley. He earned the victory in his 93rd start (92 as a professional) at age 30 years, 3 months, 19 days. In 26 starts, he had a win, a T-3rd at the FedEx St. Jude Classic and a total of six top-10s. In the FedExCup Playoffs, he made it through the BMW Championship before a season-ending 45th-place finish in the FedExCup standings. He was 33rd on the money list.
2015 Notes: Every didn't place inside the top 25 in nine starts. In his 10th start of the season, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he posted four sub-70 scores to overtake third-round leader Henrik Stenson by a stroke to defend his title. He began the final round trailing Stenson by three strokes, but his 17-foot birdie on the 72nd hole cemented his victory. With the win, Every joined Tiger Woods and Loren Roberts as players to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational in back-to-back years. Over the last couple of months has had a sore wrist which has hampered his game and forced him to not complete in some events. Before his start at the WGC-Bridgestone hadn't played on the weekend since the Players Championship.
