This is the 150th playing of the Open Championship, which was first played in 1860, just five months before Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States. This will be the 30th time that the Old Course of St. Andrews is being used, the last time the Open was played there was in 2015 when Zach Johnson won.
The 2020 Open was not played due to COVID-19.
The field updated on Sunday evening with the last of those getting in at the Scottish Open and Barbasol Championship, the field is full at 156. First alternate is Alex Noren
