Player Rankings Explained

StatisticsThe GOLFstats Player Rankings provide an current ranking of the hottest golfers on All Tours. The ranking uses the players performance over the previous 9 weeks starting from when the report is generated. Tournaments in progress are counted. GOLFstats automatically updates it’s data every hour.

Here is how the point system works

  1. 132 points are awarded for a regular tour win. All other finishers in the Top 50 get points as well, via a declining schedule (see table below).
    1. Miss the cut and player loses points (per table below)
    2. No points earned or lost if player doesn’t play
    3. Points are higher for WGC, FEDEX, Players, BMW PGA, and Majors (per table below)
  2. Points are ⅓ less for tournaments in weeks 4, 5 and 6 (middle third), and ⅓ less for tournaments in weeks 7, 8 and 9(last third) for all places. 

Points are awarded as follows;
