Kennedy last appeared in The Open last year and will be 48 when he tees off in it again, getting back in due to his T-3rd finish in the Gate Way To The Open Mizuno Open

He has won three times on the Japan Golf Tour and five times on the PGA Tour of Australasia.

Kennedy turned professional in 1994. He won several minor tournaments in Queensland. In 2003 and 2004 he had a trio of second-place finishes on the European Tour: the 2003 and 2004 Carlsberg Malaysian Opens and the 2004 Madeira Island Open; the first two being co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour, where he was also runner-up in the 2002 Volvo China Open. In 2006 he was third in the Barclays Singapore Open, an important event on the Asian Tour.

Since 2011 Kennedy has played primarily on the Japan Golf Tour where he has won three times. He has also been successful on the PGA Tour of Australasia, winning five times. His most important wins on the tour have been in the New Zealand Open, which he won in 2011 and 2020.

One of many Australian players who have excelled in Asia. His wife caddied for Brad previously until they welcomed the arrival of their first child. Says his long-term goal is to invest in a charter fishing boat on the Gold Coast. Whenever he plays, he must have his shades on. His younger brother, Troy, is also an Asian Tour member.

Kennedy, who played the last Open Championship at Royal St George's last year, missed the cut. He played full-time on the European Tour between 2003 and 2007, and has played in 101 Tour events. He has made 53 cuts and was in the top-ten, seven times. His best finish was runner-up in the Malaysian Open in 2003 and 2004, as well as the 2004 Madeira Island Open and the 2019 ISPS Handa Vic Open. He has total European Tour earnings are euro506,689 ($531,009).

Also missed the cut at the U.S. Open and Open Championship.

2022 Notes: Was 2nd at the Victorian PGA Championship and T-25th at the Gippsland Super 8, T-4th at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship, T-9th at the Queensland PGA Championship, 7th at the Vic Open and T-2nd at the TPS Hunter Valley.. On the Asian Tour was T-14th at the PIF Saui International.
