Aaron Baddeley

Started playing golf at the age of eight-years-old because his grandmother (Jean Baddeley) and aunt were enthusiasts. Born in the United States, he only spent the first six months of his life in this country while his father was employed as the chief mechanic for the Mario Andretti motor racing team. He moved back to Australia when he was two years old. Played on the 2011 Presidents Cup team as captain's pick.
Baddeley has three PGA Tour victories, including the 2011 Northern Trust Open, where he defeated Vijay Singh by two strokes. Winner of the 1999 Australian Open against a field that included Greg Norman and Colin Montgomerie. Paired with Montgomerie in the final round. He was the first amateur winner of the Australian Open in 39 years and the youngest champion in the event's history. Qualified for Victorian Open in 1997 at age 15. The youngest person to receive a Victorian Institute of Sport Scholarship at age 16. Played in the 1998 U.S. Junior Amateur and shot 135 in qualifying, which up until 1999 was the lowest qualifying score in that event. Lost in the finals to James Oh, 1-up.
Made one cut in nine PGA Tour appearances as an amateur in 2000. The highlight of the year came when he defended his Australian Open title. In 2001, he played in nine PGA Tour events and teamed with Adam Scott for a T-14th at the WGC-EMC World Cup. Winner of the 2001 Greg Norman Holden International. Finished as the 2000-01 PGA Tour of Australasian Order of Merit Champion. Earned his way on to the PGA Tour via a 10th place finish on the Nationwide Tour money list in 2002. Posted three runners-up finishes. Holds dual American and Australian citizenship.
2012 Notes: Had three top-tens, best finish was 4th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am. Finished 76th on the money list and 91st in the FedEx Cup race.
2013 Notes: Made 10 of 24 cuts and finished 101st in the FedExCup standings. Entered the FedExCup Playoffs 119th in the standings before finishing T-43rd at The Barclays to just miss advancing to the second Playoffs even. Also finished 113th on the money list, had two top-tens; T-6th at the Farmers Insurance and T-9th at the RBC Canadian Open.
2014 Notes: Made 13 of 24 cuts, with two top 10s. Best finish was 4th at the Travelers Championship and 5th at the CIMB Classic. Missed the cut at The Barclays to end his season at 114th in the FedExCup standings. The FedExCup standings' finish represented his lowest since the Playoffs began in 2007.
2015 Notes: Played in 25 events and made 13 cuts. Had one top-10, T-10th at the Barbasol Championship. Finished 157th in the final FedExCup standings, it was the first time he finished outside the top 125 in the FedExCup standings since they began in 2007. In the Web.com Tour Finals, played all four events in an attempt to improve his status. Made two cuts, recording T-30s in the Small Business Connection and Web.Com Tour Championship. Finished 59th on the Finals' money list.
2016 Notes: Played in 28 events on the PGA Tour making 19 cuts and finishing in the top-10, 5 times. Was T-4th at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Also had top-10s at the Farmers Insurance Open (T-8th), Puerto Rico Open (T-8th) and the RBC Heritage (T-9th). At the Barbasol Championship shot a final round 66 which got him in a playoff with Si Woo Kim. Baddeley won on the 4th hole with a birdie. For the year finished 69th in the FedExCup standings and 61st on the money list. At the end of the year was T-4th at the Australian Open.
2017 Notes: Played in 20 PGA Tour events making 9 cuts. He was in the top-ten twice, best finishes were 5th at the Valero Texas Open and T-10th at the CIMB Classic. Finished 138th in the FedEx Cup race.
2018 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour events making 15 cuts with one top-ten. Best finish T-10th at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Failed to advance to the FedExCup Playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons, was 132nd in the rankings. In the Web.Com Tour playoffs played all four, best finish T-16th at the DAP Championship and won $34,882 for the finals which weren't enough for a card so playing the year off the 126-150 season's FEC Points list.
2019 Notes: Started the year with a T-4th at the Safeway Open, a shot back of the Tway/MooreSnedeker playoff. Was T-2nd at the Puerto Rico Open, 3 shots back of winner Martin Trainer. At the Corales Puntacana Resort Championship finished T-7th, 4 back of winner Graeme McDowell.
