Adam Long

Long's parents played golf and introduced him to the game at an early age. Long played baseball, basketball, and ice hockey growing up. When he was 12, he broke his leg during an ice hockey game and as a result, gave up the sport. Long played on the golf team at Duke University and had a successful collegiate career. He graduated from Duke in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
Played his first PGA Tour event when he qualified for the 2011 U.S. Open, where he missed the cut. During the year, he played on the eGolf Tour and Hooters Tour, winning the Woodcreek Plantation. Made it to the final stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School and was able to get a Korn Ferry Tour Tour card.

In 2014, played 23 events on the Latinoamerica and Mackenzie Tour. In 11 events on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada, his best finish was T-2nd at the Great Waterway Classic, one shot behind winner David Bradshaw. Finished T-54th at Korn Ferry Tour School, securing his card for 2015.

2019 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour starts made 11 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 69th in the FedExCup standings. In just his sixth career PGA Tour start, won the Desert Classic, shooting a final-round 65. Made a 13-foot birdie putt at the 72nd hole to defeat Phil Mickelson and Adam Hadwin by a shot. The victory came at age 31 years, 3 months, 26 days. It was only the second cut he had made in a PGA Tour event. After missing the cut in his next five events, finished T-10th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Shot a final-round 67 with eagles at the 10th and 16th holes, and finished five shots behind winner Francesco Molinari. In the FedExCup Playoffs missed the cut at the Northern Trust and T-65th at the BMW Championship.
2020 Notes: Played in 25 PGA Tour events with 18 cuts made and three top-ten finishes. Was 31st on the FedExCup points list. Was T-2nd at the Mayakoba Golf Classic a shot back of winner Brendon Todd. Was 8th at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. After the break, he finished 2nd at the 3M Open, two shots back of winner Michael Thompson. Made the cut on the number but shot 63-64 over the weekend. Entered the FedExCup playoffs 21st on the point list, but with his T-49th finish at the Northern Trust and T-56th at the BMW Championship he ended up 31st just three points away from Billy Horschel who got to play in the Tour Championship.
2021 Notes: At the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, held a two-shot lead going into the final round, but shot 75 and finished 5th, four shots back of winner Hudson Swafford. Was T-3rd at the Mayakoba Golf Classic, three shots back of winner Viktor Hovland. Goes into the Open Championship in a slump, he has missed 12 cuts in his last 17 starts. Was T-23rd at the John Deere Classsic. Got a spot into the Open Championship on Monday morning when Ryan Moore decided not to take his exemption he earned at the John Deere.
