Andy North

Member 1985 Ryder Cup Team. In 1983, had surgery to remove a bone spur in right elbow, in '87 underwent knee surgery, in '89 underwent a knee operation and a neck operation to remove bone spurs and in '91 underwent surgery to remove skin cancer from his face. . Prior to the '94 season, he underwent knee surgery, not making his first appearance until June. Has been working as a golf analyst for ESPN and ABC Sports for the past several years.
Full-time member of the PGA Tour from 1973-2002, playing 483 events and making 315 cuts, having 50 top-10 finishes with seven runner-up finishes.
Played on the Champions Tour full time from 2000-2003 before ESPN/ABC Sports commitments and injuries forced him to limit his schedule.
Did win the 2008 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf with Tom Watson which was North's first win since his 1985 U.S. Open victory 22 years, 10 months, 11 days previously. Despite the win and a chance to become a regular on the Champions Tour only played in 4 events in 2009 & 2010, twice in 2011 and three times in 2012.
2012 Notes: Finished 8th in the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf. Was originally scheduled to play with Tom Watson, but Watson withdrew with an arm injury and his spot was taken by Bobby Clampett. Also was T16th at the Encompass Insurance and withdrew with knee issues after posting a 76 in the opening round of the Senior PGA Championship. Continued to do broadcasting work for ESPN golf telecasts during the year.
2013 Notes: Only played three times, T56th Greater Gwinnett Championship, T-4th at Legends of Golf teamed with Tom Watson and then missed cut at Senior PGA Championship.
