In August of 2013, Chesters won the European Amateur Championship, beating Spain's David Morago by a shot to win the title at Real Club de Golf El Prat in Catalunya. He played in The Open at Hoylake in 2014, shooting 70-77 to miss the cut by a shot, and was planning on turning professional. But he successfully defended his European Amateur title the following month, giving him a spot at St. Andrews in 2015. He stayed an amateur making the Great Britain team for the Walker Cup at Royal Lytham in September. Chester did finish first on top of England Golfâ??s Order of Merit for 2014.
For 2015 Chesters finished T-7th in the Brabazon, T-20th at The Amateur, T-30th at the St. Andrew Link, T-2nd at the Welsh Open Stroke Play Championship, and missed the cut at the Lytham Trophy.

He was able to earn the last spot in the Open Qualifying series and will play for the first time as a professional in a major championship. It will be his second Open at St. Andrews, he finished T-12th as an amateur in 2015. Unfortunely because of the new COVID variant his flight home after the Joburg was cancelled. Making matters worst he was suppose to get married on December 18th, but he had to postpone the wedding a week due to having to isolate when he returned to Londan.
