Left Zimbabwe to attend Virginia Tech and played on the same team with Johnson Wagner. Was a second-team All-American selection in 2002 and 2003. Won multiple collegiate tournaments, including the 2003 Big East Conference Championship. Turned professional out of college and finished 162nd in Q-School, which gave him limited access to the Web.com tour for 2004.
Made the cut in 14 of 22 Web.com starts during his rookie season, recording three top-25 results. Collected $43,792 to place 97th with a season-best T-10 at the Miccosukee Championship.
Made the cut in 19 of 25 starts on 2005 Web.com Tour, with two top-10s. Earned $108,553 to finish 51st on the final money list. Best finish was a T-15th at the Envirocare Utah Classic, finishing four shots behind winner Garrett Willis.

Won the Xerox Classic by four shots for his first Web.com Tour victory. T-2nd the following week at the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic, vaulting him to No. 1 on the money list. Held the top spot there until he was overtaken at the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship by Matt Bettencourt.
In 2009, playing his second season on the PGA Tour, De Jonge made the cut in 16 of 29 starts, with two top-10 results. Finished 139th in official earnings, with a T-10th at the Northern Trust Open and T-7th at the U.S. Bank championship in Milwaukee, with matching 66's in the second and third rounds. Earned higher status for 2010 season by finishing T-5th at PGA Tour Q-School.
Enjoyed a breakout year in 2010 when he had seven top-10 finishes, including three 3rd places at the Puerto Rico Open, Greenbrier Classic and the Viking Classic. Played in three FedExCup playoffs and finished the year 51st in the FedExCup race and 34th on the money list with career earnings of $2,167,978.
2011 Notes: Wasn't as strong as his earnings were nearly cut in half to $1.2 million, but he still had three top-10 finishes, including a T-4th at the Greenbrier Classic. Again played in three FedExCup events, finishing 60th on the final FedExCup point list and 76th on the money list.
2012 Notes: Another good year as he had four top-10s, including his career best finish, runner-up at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals. He ended the year ranked 57th in the FedExCup standings and 39th on the money list with $2,015,252 in earnings.
2013 Notes: Had four top-10s in 20 starts, finished year 26th in FedExCup standings and 42nd in the money race. Was one of two players chosen by International team captain Nick Price to compete in the Presidents Cup and had a 2-3-0 record in the five matches he played.
2014 Notes: Year was a bit frustrating for him with only two top-10s. At the Honda, he struggled with a rib injury which had hindered him before. His intercostal muscle spasms when he bends down for a ball. First top-10 came at the Wells Fargo, shot opening round 80 followed by 62-68-69 to finish T-6th at 9-under par. Was in contention going into the final round of the Quicken Loans National, shot 73 and finished T-8th. Finished 91st in the FedExCup rankings and 87th on the money list.
In 2015 he equaled his career-best on the PGA Tour with a T-2nd at the McGladrey Classic. Shot a final-round, 5-under 65 to earn his first playoff appearance. After Will MacKenzie bogeyed the first extra hole, fell to eventual champion Robert Streb on the second sudden-death hole when Streb birdied after hitting his ball close on the par-3. Added two more top-tens for the year, T-5th at the Shell Houston Open and T-10th at the Puerto Rico Open.
