Celine Boutier

Celine Boutier began playing golf around the age of seven and credits her dad with introducing her to the game. She says her most memorable golf experience is winning the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Team Championship with Duke.
She owns a very decorated junior prep career that began with winning the 2009 French U-16 national championship. The following year, she placed 3rd in the AJGA Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championships and won both the Skandia Junior Open and the Italian International Championship. Boutier won the 2011 AJGA Annika Invitational and helped the French national team win the European Team Championships on her way to being named a Rolex Junior First-Team All-American. In 2012, she claimed victories in the Nation Cup, German Ladies International Championship, French International Junior Championship, and European Ladies Amateur. She also advanced to the third round of match play at the 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur before falling to eventual champion Lydia Ko. In Fall 2012, Boutier joined the women's golf team at Duke University.
During freshman season at Duke, she became ACC Rookie of the Year and earned All-ACC and Honorable Mention All-American honors from NGCA and Golfweek. She carded 11 even or under par rounds and finished T4 overall at the 2013 NCAA Championships.
During her sophomore season, Boutier won the PING/ASU Invitational and the Individual ACC Conference Championship, and she was the runner-up at the NCAA Championships. She was named the 2014 WGCA Player of the Year.
She was a WGCA & Golfweek First Team All-American and All-ACC in her junior year. She had three top-five finishes, including runner-up at the NCAA South Bend Regional.
In her senior year, she received All-ACC selection with four top-20 finishes, won the LSU Tiger Golf Classic by a record 14 strokes, and finished her Duke career ranking T-9th in wins (4), T9 in top-five finishes (13), fifth in stroke average (73.02), and fourth in rounds in the 60s.
Boutier competed in the 2014 and 2015 U.S. Women's Open championships but missed both cuts. She advanced to the Round of 32 at the 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur and the Round of 64 in 2015. She won the 2015 Ladies' British Open Amateur in Northern Ireland, and in 2014, she finished T29th at the Evian Championship in her hometown. -
In 2017, Boutier played in 20 Symetra Tour events, winning twice with eight top-10 finishes. She was the third member of the 2017 Symetra Tour graduating class to exceed $100,000 in single-season earnings. She played in four events on the LET and won the Sanya Ladies Open.
In 2018, she played in 25 events on the LPGA Tour and made 16 cuts, earning $319,577 and finishing 61 on the money list. She shot a 63 in the third round of the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic, a career-low round. She also won the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville, an event co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the ALPG Tour. She finished 10th on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit while playing in only seven events.
2019 Notes: Played in 28 LPGA events, making 24 cuts with four top-ten finishes. She was 27th on the money list with $760,430 and was 26th in the CME points race. She won her first LPGA Tour victory at the ISPS Handa Vic Open. In the final round, Boutier made a critical birdie on the 15th hole to claim a two-shot lead and victory in the year's first event. She was T-5th at the U.S. Women's Open and 6th at the AIG Women's Open. She was a captain's pick in the Solheim Cup and finished with a 4-0-0 record. Won her singles match over Annie Park 2 & 1.
2020 Notes: Played in 18 LPGA events, making 12 cuts with four top-ten finishes. She was 28th on the money list with $384,353 and was 16th on the CME points list. Her best finish was 2nd at the LPGA Drive On Championship Toledo, one shot back of winner Danielle Kang. She also was 4th at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio.
2021 Notes: Played in 23 LPGA events, making 20 cuts with six top-ten finishes. She was T-5th at the LPGA Mediheal Championship for her first top-ten finish of the year. The next week was T-8th at the Volunteers of American Classic. She qualified for the Tokyo Olympics as a member of France's women's golf team, finishing T-34th. The next week was T-7th at the Women's Scottish Open. She won the ShopRite Classic by a shot over Jin Young Ko, Inbee Park, and Brooke M. Henderson. She ended her LPGA season with a T-3rd at the CME Group Tour Championship, five shots back of the winner Jin Young Ko. Played in four LET events and won the Lacoste Ladies Open De France. She was named as a captain's pick for the European Solheim Cup team and was 1-1-1 in the Matches in her second Solheim Cup.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA events, making 21 cuts with 12 top-10 finishes. She was 11th in the CME rankings and 16th on the money list, earning $1,262,754. She opened her season with T-4th at the Hilton Tournament of Champions and Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio. Shot a final round 67 at the Honda LPGA Thailand to finish 3rd, a shot back of the Nana Koestz Madsen/Xiyu Lin playoff. Shot 67 in the final round of the Chevron Championship to finish T-4th, four shots back of the winner, Jennifer Kupcho. She was T-9th in her defense of her ShopRite LPGA Classic title. Finished 2nd at the Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open, she was the co-leader going into the final round, but despite shooting 69, lost when Ayaka Furue shot a final-round 62 to beat Boutier by three shots. She was T-7th at the AIG Women's Open and T-6th at the Lacoste Ladies Open De France. She was T-5th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, 9th at the Ascendant LPGA Volunteers of America, t-8th at the LPGA Mediheal Championship, and T-10th at the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship. She was 46th on the LET money list and 42nd in the Race to Costa del Sol.
2023 Notes: Played in 22 LPGA events, making 19 cuts with 8 top-10 finishes. She was 2nd in the CME rankings and 5th on the money list, earning $2,797,054. Boutier was T-4th at the Honda LPGA Thailand, five shots back of the winner, Lilia Vu. She won the LPGA Drive On Championship at Superstition Mountain, beating Georgia Hall in a playoff. Boutier made a birdie on the last hole of regulation to tie Hall and won with another birdie on the first hole of a playoff. It was her third career LPGA Tour win, and it gives her the most wins for a player representing France on the LPGA Tour, surpassing Patricia Meunier-Lebouc and Anne-Marie Palli. Lost in the quarterfinals to Ayaka Furue, 2 & 1, at the Bank of Hope Match Play to finish T-5th. She was T-3rd at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational with partner Yuka Saso. Boutier realized a lifelong dream when she won the Amundi Evian Championship. She became the first Frenchwoman to win her homeland's major in Evian-les-Bains, France, with a final-round 68, giving her a dominant 14-under 270 total. Boutier's six-shot win over Brooke M. Henderson ties for the largest in tournament history (along with Lydia Ko in 2015) since it claimed major status in 2013. A week after winning the Evian, Boutier did it again, winning the Freed Group Women's Scottish Open by two shots over Hyo Joo Kim. She is the first player since Ariya Jutanugarn in 2016 to win any major championship and the tournament after (AIG Women's Open and CPKC Women's Open). Boutier is the first to win back-to-back tournaments on the LPGA Tour since Jin Young Ko in 2021 at the Cognizant Founders Cup and BMW Ladies Championship. Boutier was T-5th at the BMW Ladies Championship, four shots back of the Minjee Lee/Alison Lee playoff. Won the next week at the Maybank Championship, beating Atthaya Thitikul with a birdie on the ninth extra hole. The playoff, tied for the second longest in LPGA history, was made longer by a 90-minute weather delay.
2024 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA events, making 22 cuts with four top-10 finishes. She was 2nd in the CME rankings and 26th on the money list, earning $1,131,625. Was 2nd at the HSBC Women's Champions, a shot back of the winner, Hannah Green. She played at the Paris Olympics in her home country as a member of France's women's golf team, finishing T-18th. She was named to the European Solheim Cup team, playing in the matches for a fourth time. She was 2-2-0 in Europe?s loss to the U.S. team and beat Lexi Thompson in the singles 1 Up. The week after finishing T-9th at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, she was 2nd at the BMW Ladies Championship. She shot a final round 66 to finish one shot back of the winner, Hannah Green. She won the Aramco Team Series - Shenzhen in China for her sixth victory on the Ladies European Tour. Boutier shot a bogey-free 67 in the final round to win by two shots over Xiyu Lin. In the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship was T-12th.
2025 Notes: Finished T-5th at the T-Mobile Match Play, she lost to Madelene Sagstrom 19 holes. She was 2nd in the Mizuho Americas Open, four shots back of the winner Jeeno Thitikul. Was T-4th at the Meijer LPGA Classic, three shots back of the winner Carlota Ciganda.
