Charley Hull

Hull was first introduced to golf at age two and began playing with her father at Kettering Golf Club, just north of London. At age 13, she left school to be home-schooled and started playing in amateur tournaments.
Hull came to public attention at age 9, when she won a significant 18-hole handicap event against adults with a score of 28 Stableford points from a handicap of 26 at Turnberry. At age 10 she played alongside Morgan Pressel in the British Open Pro-Am. Hull then won several amateur events in the United States and Great Britain and was ranked in the top 10 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking, reaching a high of No. 3 worldwide.
Hull was a 2012 Great Britain and Ireland Curtis Cup Team member. She lost her four-ball and foursomes match on the first two days but won her singles match on the final day as the GB&I team beat the United States team 10.5-9.5. Hull also competed in the 2012 RICOH Women's British Open, where she was T-3rd after the first round but shot a second-round 80 to miss the cut.
Hull turned professional on Jan. 1, 2013. She made her professional debut in March 2013 and reeled off five consecutive second-place finishes on the Ladies European Tour: Lalla Meryem Cup, South African Women's Open, Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, Deloitte Ladies Open, and a playoff loss at the UniCredit Ladies German Open. With five additional top-10 finishes on the Ladies European Tour, she finished sixth on the tour's Order of Merit with earnings of just under euro135,995 in 15 official events. Hull won the 2013 Ladies European Tour Rookie of the Year award and was voted the Best International Newcomer by the Sports Journalists Association.
In August 2013, Hull was selected by European Solheim Cup captain Liselotte Neumann to compete in the 2013 Solheim Cup, the youngest person ever to play in the biennial tournament. The team was the first European Solheim squad to win on U.S. soil, with a final score of 18-10. Hull contributed two points, including a 5-and-4 singles win over Paula Creamer.
2014 Notes: On March 16th, four days shy of her 18th birthday, Hull won her first professional title at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco. Hull went on to play in 17 events on the Ladies European Tour in 2014, had eight top-10s, and along with her win in Morocco, finished runner-up at the Ladies German Open (losing a playoff to Kylie Walker) and the Sanya Ladies Open. She won the Order of Merit for the year with euro263,097 in earnings. Hull also played on the LPGA in 10 events and had two top-10s, including a best T-3rd at the Airbus LPGA Classic, where she was two back of winner Jessica Korda. Hull went to LPGA Qualifying School and finished T-28th, giving her conditional status on the LPGA Tour in 2015.
2015 Notes: Played on both the LPGA and the Ladies European Tour. In 11 LET tournaments, she had six top-10 finishes, including a season-best of T-2nd at the RACV Ladies Masters. She ended eighth on the LET Order of Merit with earnings of 135,416.34 euros. She played on the European Solheim Cup team in 2013 and 2015. She has a 6-2-0 overall record. In 2015, she was 4-1-0, going 4-0 in team play and losing her singles match to Cristie Kerr, 3 and 2. She played in 14 events on the LPGA Tour, making 13 cuts. She had three top-10s; her best was 4th at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship. Finished 48th on the LPGA money list and 65th in CME points.
2016 Notes: She played in 22 LPGA events, she made 19 cuts, and had five top-10 finishes. Won for the first time at the season-ending CME Group LPGA Tour Championship, was T-2nd at the ANA Inspiration, one shot back of Lydia Ko. She was 15th on the money list with $1,114,360 and was fourth in CME points. She played in only four LET events, was 2nd at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, and T-4th at the Women's Australian Open. She represented Great Britain at the Rio Olympic Games and finished T-7th.
2017 Notes: Played in 22 events on the LPGA Tour and made 18 cuts, finishing three times in the top 10. Was T-6th at the LPGA KEB HanaBank Championship, T-9th at the VOA Texas Shootout, and Lorena Ochoa Match Play. She was 46th on the money list and did all of this with a chipped bone in her wrist. She was a European Solheim Cup team member and, despite not playing on Saturday because of the wrist injury, had a 1-1-1 record and won her singles match over Brittany Lang, 1 up. Played four times on the LET, but three were co-sanctioned with the LPGA Tour. Hull was T-5th at the Omega Dubai Ladies Classic, which was not sanctioned.
2018 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA Tour events, making 23 cuts with six top-ten finishes. T-3rd at the LPGA Mediheal Championship, four shots back of the playoff. Also was T-6th at the ANA Inspiration, two back of the playoff, T-7th at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, and T-6th at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Her best finish was 2nd at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, 3 shots back of the winner, In Gee Chun. Hull was tied for the lead after 54 holes with Danielle Kang and shot 71 Sunday to Chun's 66. She was 19th on the money list with $869,012 and 18th in the Race to CME. She was a member of the England team in the UL International Crown and went 2-1-1 in the matches. Ended her year by getting engaged during Christmas.
2019 Notes: Played in 22 LPGA Tour events, making 17 cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 19th on the money list with $885,961 in earnings as she was 51st on the CME points list. Played in four LET events and won for the second time on the LET at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Open. On the LPGA Tour, she was T-4th at the LPGA Mediheal Championship, a shot back of the Kim/Law/Lee playoff. In the last event of the year at the CME Group Tour Championship, she was 2nd, a shot back of the winner Sei Young Kim. She played in her fourth Solheim Cup for Europe and was 2-0-2. She halved her singles match with Megan Khang. In September got married to Ozzie Smith.
2020 Notes: Played in 8 LPGA Tour events, making six cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 40th on the money list with $281,594 in earnings and 66th on the CME points list. Was T-6th at the Volunteers of America Classic and T-7th at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. On the LET played in five events with three top-ten finishes. Her best was 5th in the Saudi Ladies Team International individual standings while leading her team to 9th place in the team format. Finished the season 32nd on the Race to Costa del Sol and only euro4,000 short of the 1 million euro career money mark. During the COVID-19 break, Hull played in the Rose Ladies Series in England, winning the tour's first event at Brokenhurst Manor in June. She won the Tour's Grand Champion after leading the point table after finishing runner-up in the final event, which was halted after two rounds due to wildfires around the golf course at Wentworth.
2021 Notes: Played in 19 LPGA events, making 17 cuts with two top-10s. She was 55th on the money list with $392,308 and 54th in CME points. She led the LPGA Tour with 15 eagles in the season. On the LET, she was eighth on the LET's Race to the Costa del Sol, with four top-10 finishes in nine starts, including three joint events with the LPGA. Won the individual portion of the LET's Aramco Team Series-New York, shooting a final-round 65 at Glen Oaks Club. It was her third LET title. She qualified for Great Britain's women's Olympic golf team but opted out of the Games. She was named to the European Solheim Cup team for the fifth time and was 2-2-0 in the matches. Best LPGA finish was 5th at the Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open, which also counted on the LET.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA Tour events, making 20 cuts with three top-ten finishes. She was 38th on the money list with $768,975 in earnings and was 43rd in CME points. Played in 7 LET events, making seven cuts with four top-ten finishes. She was 36th in the Race to Costa Del Sol and was 24th on the money list with earnings of euro123,812. Finished T-4th at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio, three shots back of winner Lydia Ko. She was 7th at the JTBC Classic. She was T-8th at the Aramco Team Series - Bangkok. Finished T-3rd at the Amundi Evian Championship, where she closed with 67-67 and finished two behind the winner, Brooke M. Henderson. She finished T-5th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, four shots back of the Atthaya Thitikul/Danielle Kang playoff. She won The Ascendant LPGA for her 2nd LPGA victory and her first in six years. She made four birdies on the back nine for a 7-under 64 in the final round to win by one shot over Xiyu Lin. She was 2nd in the LET's Aramco Team Series Jeddah, losing to 16-year-old amateur Chiara Noja in a playoff. In the LPGA season-closing CME Group Tour Championship, she finished T-30th.
2023 Notes: Played in 18 LPGA Tour events, making 14 cuts with five top-ten finishes. She was 6th on the money list with $2,395,650 in earnings and was 11th in CME points. Played in 6 LET events, making five cuts with three top-ten finishes. She was 14th in the Race to Costa Del Sol and was 2nd on the money list with earnings of euro975,106. Hull was T-2nd in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, finishing four shots back of the winner, Brooke M. Henderson. She was T-7th at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Superstition Mt. She was named to England's team for the Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown but withdrew due to injury. She had her 2nd runner-up finish of the year with a T-2nd at the U.S. Women's Open, shooting a final-round 66 to finish two shots back of winner Allisen Corpuz. She was 2nd in the LET's Aramco Team Series-London, four shots back of winner Nelly Korda. At the AIG Women's Open, she was a co-leader going into the final round, shot 73 on Sunday to finish 2nd, six shots back of the winner Lilia Vu. She was a member of the European Solheim Cup team for a sixth time and was 1-2-0 in the matches. She lost to Danielle Kang in the singles, 4 & 2. She was 2nd at the Kroger Queen City Championship. She lost a playoff to Minjee Lee, who made a birdie to win on the second playoff hole. She was 3rd at the Aramco Team Series - Riyadh, 11 shots back of the winner Alison Lee. She was T-16th in the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.
2024 Notes: Played in 17 LPGA Tour events, making 15 cuts with five top-ten finishes. She was 28th on the money list with $1,104,000 in earnings and was 46th in CME points. Opened the year, finishing T-7th at the Hilton Tournament of Champions. Hull was T-3rd at the Aramco Ladies International, nine shots back of winner Patty Tavatanakit. She was 2nd at the Aramco Team Series - Tampa, three shots back of the winner, Alexandra Forsterling. She was T-10th at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship. She was 2nd at the Aramco Team Series - Korea, three shots back of the winner Hyo-Joo Kim. Finished T-5th at the Dow Championship with partner Georgia Hall. She played in the Paris Olympics as a Great Britain's women's golf team member, finishing T-27th. Was in the running at the Women's Scottish Open. Shot a final round 73 to finish 5th, seven shots back of the winner, Lauren Coughlin. She was named to the European Solheim Cup team for the seventh time and was 3-2-0 in the matches, winning the most points in Europe?s loss, including a win in singles over Nelly Korda, 6 and 4. Hull also played on the LET Tour, making eight starts in which she had a win at the Aramco Team Series-Riyadh, a runner-up at the Aramco Team Series-Tampa and Aramco Team Series-Korea, and a T-3rd at the Aramco Ladies International. Hull finished 4th on the 2024 LET money list with euro566,852 and was 3rd in the Order of Merit. Finished her season on the LPGA, finishing T-2nd at the Annika Driven by Gainbridge, three shots back of the winner, Nelly Korda, and was T-16th at the CME Group Tour Championship.
2025 Notes: Was T-4th at the HSBC Women's Champions; she shot 74 in the final round to finish six back of the winner, Lydia Ko. On the LET Tour was T-8th at the PIF Saudi Ladies International and 4th at the KPMG Women's Irish Open. At the Amundi Evian Championship, Hull was sick and collapsed in the opening round and withdrew. At the ISPS, Handa Women's Scottish Open said she had a virus that caused cold sweats, aching joints, dizziness, a temperature through the roof, and low blood pressure. She played in the Scottish Open, feeling 80% fit.
