D.A. Weibring

Born and raised in Illinois and got started in golf when his dad cut down a wooden-shafted putter for him when he was five.
Won the 1996 Greater Hartford Open just months after being diagnosed with Bell's palsy, a virus that caused temporary paralysis on right side of his face. Before his win in Hartford in 1996, all of his victories were in his native state. Won the 1991 Hardee's Golf Classic after recovery from surgery on his right wrist in November 1989.
Owns a design and management company, which has been in business since 1988. The company has been involved in numerous projects; one of the biggest was redoing the TPC Four Seasons in Irving, Texas, where the HP Byron Nelson Championship is played.
Played full-time on the PGA Tour from 1978-2002, playing in total of 559 events. Won five times, was runner-up eight times and placed third nine times. Finished in the top-10 69 times and made 395 cuts. Had career earnings of $4.8 million.
2012 Notes: Bothered during the second half of the season with a heel injury, limiting him to only 16 starts. Four top-25 finishes, best was T-16th at the 3M Championship, the only stroke-play event during the year where he recorded two rounds in the 60s.
2013 Notes: Nagging injuries limited his season to just 12 events and none after the Boeing Classic in late August. Plagued by rib and back issues on his right side, which resulted from problems with his left Achilles' tendon that troubled him during the 2012 season. Best showing came in March when he finished T-17th at the Toshiba Classic.
2014 Notes: Made just four official starts during the year as he was plagued by a back issue suffered in a fall prior to the start of the Greater Gwinnett Championship in April. Made just two starts after that initial injury, one two weeks later, at the Insperity Invitational (T-68th) and the other at the AT&T Championship in late October (T-72th).
2016 Notes: Wasn't able to make any starts in 2015 due to various injuries. His first start back was at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf were he finished T-35th with Tom Purtzer.
