David Morland IV

A Canadian professional golfer who has played on the Canadian Tour, PGA Tour, and Nationwide Tour. Morland was born in North Bay, Ontario., he got his start in golf at age 4 from his dad.
The family soon moved to Toronto where David attended Church Street Public School. David played many sports in grade school. He tried everything from wrestling to skiing, but his two passions emerged as hockey and golf. By grade 10 he had to decide between his two passions. Seeing promise in golf, winning a 1986 and 1987 Ontario Golf Association championship, David chose to step off the ice for good.
He turned professional in 1991 after going to Kent State University. His first professional success came in the 1999 McDonald's Prince Edward Island Challenge on the Canadian Tour.
In late 1999 Morland finished T-16th place in the PGA Tour Q-school to gain a place on the tour for 2000. He had four seasons playing on the PGA Tour, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004, and competed in a total of 125 PGA Tour events making 47 cuts with three top-ten finishes. His best season was 2002 when he finished 150th in the money list with earnings of $279,877. His best being to be T-5th place in the 2001 Canadian Open.
Morland also played a number of seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour playing in 175 events between 2002 and 2010. He made 80 cuts with ten, top-ten finishes winning twice, the 2002 Hibernia Southern Open, and the 2003 SAS Carolina Classic. He also lost a playoff for the New Zealand PGA Championship in 2007. 2003 was his best season, finishing 18th ($190,284) in the money list to regain his place on the PGA Tour.
On turning 50 in 2019 got to the final stage of PGA Tour Champions Q-School and finished T-31st so he didn't get a card for 2019
2019 Notes: Got to play in three events on the PGA Tour Champions. Was 72nd at the Senior Open Championship, T-62nd at the Boeing Classic, and T-36th at the Shaw Charity Classic. Morland played in the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship and finished T-66th. He also went through Legends tour school and finished 7th getting his Legend card for 2020 (which had no season). Back on the PGA Tour Champions went through and get to the final stage of Q-School but finished T-45th.
2020 & 2021 Notes: Played in 7 PGA Tour Champions with one top-ten. Qualified for the 2020 Hoag Classic and opened with a 61 in the first round. With rounds of 70-71, he finished T-7th, five shots back of winner Ernie Els. Was T-70th at the Ally Challenge and T-56th at the Bridgestone Senior Players. In his last 2021 start was T-16th at the Shaw Charity Classic. Played in 8 European Legends Tour with two top-ten finishes. Was 2nd at the Legends Open de France three shots back of winner Thomas Levet. Was 7th at the Scottish Senior Open, five back of winner Thomas Levet.
2022 Notes: Was T-45th at the Riegler & Partner Legends.
