Fran Quinn

Quinn was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and attended Northwestern University where he graduated in 1987 with a degree in Economics. He turned professional in 1988.
Quinn played his first full season on the Web.com Tour and then the Ben Hogan Tour, in 1991, where he made 13 of 25 cuts. He later in the year finished T-8th at Q-School, obtaining his PGA Tour card for 1992. He made only 6 of 18 cuts in 1992 and lost his tour card for 1993.
Quinn played off and on the PGA and Nationwide Tour's from 1993 to 1997 until he shifted his focus mainly to the Web.com Tour. In 1999, Quinn picked up his first win on a major tour at the Dakota Dunes Open in a playoff. He had three top-10s on the season, but it was not enough to earn his PGA Tour card for 2000.
Quinn won his first start of 2000 at the Florida Classic, but it was his only top 10 of the season. He finished with $125,000 in season-long earnings. After his 2000 win, Quinn saw his game come to a standstill. From the Florida win and mid-2009, he had played in 235 events, not winning any of them, finishing in the top-10 only 11 times.
Quinn saw his career resurrected in late 2009 at the Albertsons Boise Open in September. He went head-to-head in the final round with Blake Adams, who had led after all three rounds. Quinn found himself tied for the lead at the 18th hole. He hit his approach within 10 feet and knocked in his birdie putt after Adams failed to make his. It was Quinn's third career Web.Com Tour win, and it put him to over $1,000,000 in Web.Com Tour career earnings. It also vaulted him from 92nd to 18th on the 2009 money list. He finished the year 25th on the money list to earn his 2010 PGA Tour card.
Stress fractures limited Quinn to seven PGA Tour events in 2010, where he made two cuts. Quinn also played in three Nationwide Tour events in 2010, where he won his fourth career Nationwide Tour event, the Panama Claro Championship. He played the 2011 and 2012 seasons on a Major Medical Exemption, which he was unable to satisfy.
2013 Notes: Played in 13 Web.Com tour events only had two top-25s, best was T-21st. Finished 177th on the money list, so for 2014 he has limited access to the Web.com Tour as a past champion.
2014 Notes: Only played four times, making the cut twice finishing T54th at the News Sentinel Open and T-65th at the Albertsons Boise Open. Went to Champions Tour Q-School and finished T-24th which means he gets to play in open qualifiers during 2015.
2015 Notes: Played just once on the Web.Com Tour, missing the cut at the Panama Claro Championship. Was able to get into five Champions Tour events via Tuesday qualifying, only top-25 was a T-3rd at the Boeing Classic. At the end of the year went to Champions Tour Q-School finishing T-46th which gets him no privileges on the Champions Tour in 2016.
2016 Notes: Played in nine events finishing five of them in the top-25. Best finish T-4th at the American Family Insurance. Was 57th on the money list, at the end of the year went to Champions Tour Q-School and regained his card for 2017 by finishing up T-4th.
2017 Notes: Made 19 starts and finished in the top-10 twice, T-8th at the Dominion Energy Charity and T-9th at Dick's Sporting Goods Open. Finished the year 54th on the money list and 53 in Schwab Ranking. Returned to Q-School and finished T-35th.
2018 Notes: Played in 23 PGA Tour Champions events with two top-10 finishes. Was T-6th at the Toshiba Classic, 4 shots back of winner Vijay Singh. Was T-3rd at the Dominion Energy Charity he was 2 shots back of winner Woody Austin. It was his best finish of the season and matching his career-best finish, and he improved from 64th to 45th in the Charles Schwab standings.
2019 Notes: T-5th at the Hoag Classic. Playing on a sponsor exemption, entered the final round of the Hoag Classic leading by three shots, but shot 74 to finish two shots back of the Triplett/Austin playoff.
