Graeme Storm

Storm was born in Hartlepool. He learned his trade at Hartlepool Golf Club, where he holds the course record of 62. He won The Amateur Championship in 1999 and that got him an invite to play in the Masters, where his mother caddied for him. Later in the year he represented Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup, before turning professional in 2000.
Storm initially had difficulty establishing himself on the European Tour, and took a job in a local cake factory in the offseason to help finance his early years as a professional. In 2004 he recorded two wins on the European Challenge Tour on his way to finishing 3rd in the end of season rankings, and automatic graduation back to the European Tour for 2005. That season he made a major advance by finishing 31st on the European Tour Order of Merit, an improvement of 90 places on his previous best.
In 2007, Storm won his first European Tour event, with a one-shot victory at the Open de France ALSTOM. He commented, "It's unbelievable, to be honest. It's an amazing feeling. Over the last six or seven months I've been thinking that it might never happen. I've been putting too much pressure on myself but hopefully now I can go on to better things." He went on to finish the 2007 season ranked 16th on the Order of Merit.
At the 2007 PGA Championship, Storm led after the first round after shooting a 5-under par 65 at Southern Hills Country Club. However he could not maintain that form and ended up finishing T-62nd. He was in contention going into the final round of the 2008 WGC-Cadillac, shot 71 and finished T-6th, his best showing in America.
Over the years Storm plays a pretty full schedule and seems to always maintain his playing privileges. Between 2005 and 2013 was always in the top-100 of the money list except for 2011 when he was 101. Since finishing 2nd at the 2008 Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles has not come close to winning, between that event and the end of 2013 has only finished in the top-ten, 10 times in 152 events.
2013 Notes: Played in 29 events had three top-tens, was T-3rd at the Alstom Open de France, T-6th at the ISPS Handa Wales Open and T-10th at the Lyoness Open. Finished the year with just over euro400,000 and was 75th in the Race to Dubai.
In 2014 only has made four cuts in 15 events, best finish T-22nd Joburg Open.
