Haeran Ryu

Ryu, a member of the Korean national team, finished 4th at the 19th Daebo Group Cup Maekyung Amateur Golf Championship and later finished inside the top 5 at the 22nd Song Am Cup Amateur Golf Championship. She notched another top 5 at the Korean Women's Amateur, finishing 5th. Ryu also managed top-25 finishes at the KB Financial Group Cup, finishing 22nd, and the Bear Creek Cup, finishing 18th.
In 2016, she traveled to Australia, where she played in the Australian Amateur, presented by Swinging Skirts, the Lake Macquarie International Championship, and the NSW Amateur. She scored top-25 finishes in all three events, finishing T-23rd, T-7th, and 11th, respectively. Finished runner-up at the 45th Youth National Sports Festival. She played in two professional tournaments on the LPGA of Korea (KLPGA) and enjoyed some success. She missed the cut at the Kyochon Honey Ladies Open but finished T-16th and as the low amateur at the Kia Motors 30th Korea Women's Open Golf Championship. She qualified for the 2016 U.S. Women's Open but missed the cut.
Ryu won the 2018 Korean Women's Amateur. She won silver with the Korean team at the World Junior Girls Championship in 2016 and 2017 and at the 2018 Asian Games. She represented Asia/Pacific in the 2018 Patsy Hankins Trophy.
Ryu turned professional in mid-2019 and joined the LPGA of Korea Tour after successfully participating in the development tour. She won the 2019 Jeju Samdasoo Masters and successfully defended her title in 2020, her official rookie season. In that season, she earned the Rookie of the Year title after earning over 628 million won, second on the money list behind only Kim Joo.
Ryu played in the 2020 U.S. Women's Open and finished T-13th. This result helped her rise to 17th in the Women's World Golf Rankings.
In 2021, she won two more KLPGA titles, and in 2022, she notched her fifth title and was second in Player of the Year points and second in scoring average of 70.57.
Ryu won the 2022 LPGA Q-Series to join the LPGA Tour in 2023. She became the third player from Korea to take medalist honors at the LPGA Q-Series, joining Lee Jeong-eun (2018) and An Na-rin.
2023 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA Tour events, making 22 cuts with six top-ten finishes. She was 13th on the CME Points list and 15th on the money list with $1,555,010 in earnings. She was the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year. She finished T-7th in her debut at the LPGA Drive On Championship. She was T-6th at the JM Eagle LA Championship and was 4th in the Cognizant Founders Cup, five shots out of the playoff won by Jin Young Ko. She was 3rd in the Mizuho Americas Open, one shot out of the playoff won by Rose Zhang. Ryu was in contention at the 2023 U.S. Women's Open and finished in 8th place. She won the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship for her first LPGA victory. She led after every round for a three-shot win over Linnea Strom. She ended her season, finishing T-36th at the CME Group Tour Championship.
2024 Notes: Played in 26 LPGA Tour events, making 23 cuts with 13 top-ten finishes. She was 2nd on the CME Points list and 5th on the money list with $2,814,903 in earnings. Was T-9th at the Honda LPGA Thailand. She was the leader going into the final round of the Chevron Championship, shooting a final round 74 to finish 5th, four shots back of the winner, Nelly Korda. The next week was 3rd at the JM Eagle L.A. Championship, six shots back of the winner, Hannah Green. Was T-9th at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Shot a final round 65 to finish 5th at the Amundi Evian Championship and finished six shots back of the winner, Ayaka Furue. Shot a final round 65 to finish 2nd at the Dana Open, a shot back of the winner Chanettee Wannasaen. The next week was T-3rd at the CPKC Women's Open. She had a one-shot lead going into the final round but shot 75 to finish three shots back of the winner, Lauren Coughlin. She won the inaugural FM Championship, shooting 64 in the final round to complete a wild week, in which she led after two rounds before stumbling Saturday and rebounding Sunday. Ryu shot 62 in round two to take a six-stroke lead, before shooting 78 to fall into a T-6th with 18 holes to play. Her 64 on Sunday got her into a playoff with Jin Young Ko, and she won with a par on the first extra hole. In her next start, she finished third in the Kroger Queen City Championship, six back of the winner, Lydia Ko. She had her fourth and fifth third-place finishes of the year on the Asian Swing with a T-3rd at the Maybank Championship and a 3rd at the TOTO Japan Classic. Was T-35th in the season-final CME Group Tour Championship.
2025 Notes: Finished T-6th at the Chevron Championship despite having a share of the 54-hole lead. Shot 76 and finished two shots back of the five-woman playoff, won by Mao Saigo. One week later, she won the inaugural Black Desert Championship for her third LPGA victory and her third year in a row with a victory. She shot 63 on Thursday to take the 18-hole lead and never looked back with rounds of 67-68-64 for a wire-to-wire win, finishing at 26-under 262 to beat Esther Henseleit and Ruoning Yin by five shots. She has now won in seven straight years as a pro, including four years on the Korean LPGA from 2019 to 2022.
