J.J. Henry

Henry turned professional in the summer of 1998, after finishing at TCU and PGA Tour Q-School, where he finished T-60, earning him a spot on the Nationwide Tour. He played two years on that tour before finishing 13th on the money list in 2000, propelling him to the PGA Tour for 2001. His only win on the Nationwide tour came at the Knoxville Open in 2000. He has played on the PGA Tour since 2001 and has finished every year in the top 125, with his best year coming in 2006 when he won the Buick Championship. His good play was rewarded with a 2006 Ryder Cup team spot.
He was exposed to high-level golf at a young age by his father, who played in numerous U.S. and British Amateurs. Awarded the 1998 CSWA Bill Lee Award, given to the state's Male Athlete of the Year by the Connecticut Sportswriters Association. Among his biggest thrills in golf was his hole-in-one on the 17th hole in the last round of the 1998 WAC Championship to win both the team and individual title. In 2006, the Henry House Foundation funds tangible projects to promote health care and well-being for children in Fort Worth, Texas, and southern New England. A golf tournament and gala are held annually to support the foundation.
He played full-time on the Korn Ferry Tour in 1999 and 2000. In 72 starts, he made 48 cuts, with ten top-ten finishes. He won the 2000 Knoxville Open and earned $333,853.
Played full time on the PGA Tour between 2001 and 2019, then off and on between 2020 to 2023. He made 578 starts, making 341 cuts with 40 top ten finishes. He won three times: the 2006 Buick Championship, the 2012 and '15 Barracuda Championship. In his 22 years on the PGA Tour, he earned $16,925,357.
2025 Notes: Made his first start at the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational finishing T-59th. Was T-40th at the Insperity Invitational.
