Jim Renner

Renner attended Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, Mass., the University of Oklahoma and Johnson & Wales University (Fla.), where he won the 2005 NAIA Championship. Was a two-time Boston Globe Player of the Year. Won the team and individual 2002 state championship. Winner of the 2001 Massachusetts Amateur Championship.
Turned pro and in 2008 played mini-tour events in the Northeast. He dominated in New England, winning the Massachusetts Open, Vermont Open and Rhode Island Open. In 2009, won the Maine Open and finished third on the Golfer's Warehouse Tour Money List. Played on the NGA Hooters Tour in 2010 and won the Sunset Hills NGA Classic. At the end of the year, made it to the finals of the PGA Tour Q-School and finished T-22, getting his PGA Tour card for 2011.
2011 Notes: Played in 22 events and made 11 cuts. Had two top-10 finishes in a span of three weeks, T-4 Viking Classic and T-5 at the Reno-Tahoe Open. Despite that, finished 181st in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and 155th on the Money List. Went back to Q-School but finished T-63, which meant a switch to the Web.Com Tour for 2012.
2012 Web.com Summary: Tournaments entered - 24; in money - nine; top-10 finishes - three; scoring average 70.63 (ranked 51st); money $99,500 (ranked 26th); best finish T-3 Rex Hospital Open.
2013 Web.com Summary: Tournaments entered - 23; in money - 12; top-10 finishes - four; scoring average 70.39 (ranked 40th); money $166,360 (ranked 27th); best finish second Colombia Championship. Since he entered the Web.Com Tour finals 17th on the money list, secure his 2013-14 PGA Tour card.
In 2014 made his first cut of the season in his fifth start, finishing a career-best T-2 at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am for his third career top-10 performance.
