Jiwon Jeon

Jiwon Jeon was introduced to golf thanks to her father's business of selling and installing solar panels in the Republic of Korea. One of his customers was a golf professional and got Jeon into the game. At the age of 15, she moved to Australia to attend both the high school and golf academy at Hills International College. Her coaches in Australia recommended that she attend college in the United States, so she attended Daytona State College to play golf.
During her freshman and sophomore seasons at Daytona State, Jeon led the Falcons to national junior college team championships in 2017 and 2018 and won the individual championship in 2018. She earned eight individual wins at Daytona State (six wins in her sophomore season) as well as First-Team NJCAA All-America honors in both seasons. She became the first junior college golfer to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup when she played on the International team in 2018 in France.
Jeon transferred to the University of Alabama in the fall of 2018 is currently a junior on the golf team.
She started her junior season with a 6th place finish in the Annika Intercollegiate and a victory in the Schooner Fall Classic in September 2018 where set several Alabama program records with her winning score of 17-under-par 196.
Jeon was runner-up in the 2018 U.S. Women's Amateur in Kingston Springs, Tenn., losing to Alabama teammate Kristen Gillman, 7 & 6, in the final.
She has competed on the last two International Arnold Palmer Cup teams and played in the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur this April. As of May 15, 2019, she ranked No. 10 on the Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking.
