Morgane Metraux speaks three languages fluently. Morgane started playing golf at age ten, along with her parents and her sister (Kim Metraux, who is also a LET member). The family started together to have an activity to play during weekends and holidays. From age six, Morgane's main focus outside of school was playing the piano, and golf came second. However, when she was 15, Morgane played in her first international event at the Junior Open, made the cut, and absolutely loved it. She then decided to become part of the Swiss National Team and achieved the goal by the end of the year. The next year, she decided to focus on golf and passed her final piano exam.
With the National Team, Morgane played in a European Girls' Team Championship (2013) and three European Ladies' Team Championships (2014/'15/'16), during which time the team won a silver (2015) and a bronze medal (2014). She also played in two World Amateur Team Championships editions with her sister in 2014 and 2016. In the latter, the team won the silver medal behind South Korea. During her amateur career, Morgane participated in four Ladies European Individual Championships (2014, '15, '16 & '17), earning 3rd and 4th place in 2017 and 2016, respectively. She also participated in the 2017 Vagliano Trophy in Bogogno, Italy, where her team (Continental Europe) won 15- 9. In August 2014, at the age of 17, Morgane left for college in America and joined Florida State University. In her junior year, she won three times individually and six times with her team. During her career as a Seminole, she earned All-America honors for both her junior and senior years. Her best personal finish at the National Championship was a T-5th in 2018. She graduated in April 2018 with a degree in Business Management (Summa Cum Laude honors). Another amateur achievement was qualifying for the 2017 US Women's Open in Bedminster, NJ. She missed the cut.
