Nanna Koerstz Madsen

Danish professional golfer Koerstz Madsen started playing the game at an early age. Her family has influenced her the most. In 2014, Madsen was selected as the best European amateur player. She played college golf for one semester at the University of South Carolina, winning one tournament. Madsen was a rookie on the Ladies European Tour in 2015 after earning her LET card by winning the Lalla Aicha Tour School Final Qualifying.
2015 Notes: In her rookie season on the LET, she competed in 16 tournaments and had six top-10s. Her best finish of the season was in the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women's Open, where she finished 3rd, shooting rounds of 67-69-71. She finished the season in 9th position in the Order of Merit.
2016 Notes: Played in 17 LET tournaments and won the Tipsport Golf Masters. In addition to this, she secured five more top-10 finishes and was 6th in the Order of Merit.
Nanna represented Denmark at the 2016 Olympic Games, finishing T-13th. She couldn't make it through LPGA Q-School but gained access to the Symetra Tour for 2017.
2017 Notes: Has played in 3 LET events, was T-53rd at the Oates Victorian Open, missed the cut at the World Ladies Championship, and T-14th at the Lalla Meryem Cup. She started the year on the LPGA Tour by finishing 2nd at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, 3 shots back of winner Ha Na Jang. She played in 13 Epson Tour events, and when she won the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic, her third win of the year got a "battlefield promotion" to the LPGA Tour.
2018 Notes: Played in 22 LPGA Tour events, making nine cuts. Best finish T-15th at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic. She was 106th on the money list with $91,424. Played in six LET events, best finish T-3rd at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France. She was also T-5th at the Ladies Classic Bonville. She was 36th on the Order of Merit of the LET. She regained her LPGA card for 2019 by finishing T-11 at Q-Series. Before the 2019 season, her mental coach convinced her to keep lemons in her golf bag and take a bite of one to keep calm during a round. She says the sour taste distracts her from whatever has upset her and gets her to refocus on golf.
2019 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA events, making 20 cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 38th on the money list with $552.072 in earnings and was 38th on the CME points list. She struggled the first half of the season, and her best finish was 13th HUGEL-AIR PREVIA L.A. Open until the end of September when she finished 2nd at the Indy Women in Tech Championship. She shot 64-67 over the weekend to finish 4 shots back of the winner, Mi Hung Hur. Also played in six LET events with three top-ten finishes. The best was T-2nd at the Andalucia Open De Espana, a shot back of the winner Anne Van Dam. Finished 24th on the Order of Merit.
2020 Notes: Played in 12 LPGA Tour events, making eight cuts with one top-ten finish. She was 68th on the money list with earnings of $162,108 and 70th on the CME points list. Her best finish was T-5th, one shot back of the four-woman playoff that Stacy Lewis won.
2021 Notes: Played in 20 LPGA Tour events, making 16 cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 31st on the money list with $635,548 and was 38th on the CME points list. Shot a final-round 66 to finish T-3rd at the ANA Inspiration to finish seven back of the winner Patty Tavatanakit. Represented Denmark at the Tokyo Olympics and finished T-9th. At the AIG Women's Open, she was co-leader through 54 holes and still tied for the lead until a double bogey on the 72nd hole dropped her into T-5, two strokes behind winner Anna Nordqvist. Captain Catriona Matthew was named a captain's pick to the European Solheim Cup team and went 1-1-1 in the matches.
2022 Notes: Played in 23 LPGA Tour events, making 12 cuts with three top-ten finishes. She was 49th on the money list with $632,106 in earnings and was 29th in CME points. She claimed her first LPGA Tour victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand. Tied with Xiyu Lin with 26-under 262 totals, Madsen eagled the second playoff hole to become the first player from Denmark to win on the LPGA Tour. She was also in a playoff in her next start, losing to Atthaya Thitikul on the second extra hole. Madsen had the 54-hole lead after rounds of 66-67-69, then shot a 70 in the final round and was caught by Thitikul's 64. Finished T-8th at the Chevron Championship.
2023 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA Tour events, making 16 cuts with one top-ten finish. She was 64th on the money list with $445,722 in earnings and was 68th in CME points. Shot a final round 65 to finish T-4th at the ShopRite Classic, four shots back of the winner Ashleigh Buhai.
2024 Notes: Played in 26 LPGA Tour events, making 19 cuts with five top-ten finishes. She was 47th on the money list with $844,805 in earnings and was 40th in CME points. She teamed with Nicole Broch Estrup to finish T-3rd at the Dow Championship, three shots back of winners Ruoning Yin and Atthaya Thitikul. Was T-8th at the CPKC Women's Open. She played at the Paris Olympics as a member of Denmark's women's golf team, finishing T-36th. Was T-9th at the Kroger Queen City Championship and T-6 at the Toto Japan Classic. In the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship was T-46th.
2025 Notes: She finished T-7th at the Honda LPGA Thailand, was T-4th at the Meijer LPGA Classic, three back of the winner Carlota Ciganda. Went into the final round of the ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open just two shots back, but shot 79 to finish 6th. Was two shots back going into the final round of the ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open, shot 76 to finish 6th, ten back of the winner Lottie Woad, who shot a final round 68.
