Nick Taylor

Taylor was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia. His home golf course is Ledgeview Golf and Country Club. In 2007 he won the Canadian Amateur Championship.
In 2008, Taylor qualified for the U.S. Open, in which he missed the cut by three shots. He also finished T-53rd at the 2008 RBC Canadian Open. He qualified for the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black, where he did make the cut, carding a 65 in the second round, the record for lowest by an amateur in major's history. He finished T-36th, being the lowest amateur of the championship. He also became the number one world amateur golfer according to the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking. In September 2009, he won the Mark H. McCormack Medal for being on top of the World Amateur Golf Ranking after the U.S. Amateur.
Taylor turned professional in late 2010. Was selected to carry the Olympic Torch in advance of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He played on PGA Tour Canada from 2011 to 2013, compiling 10 top-10 finishes in 25 starts. In 2013, he finished 7th on the Order of Merit and earned an exemption into the final stage of the Web.com Tour qualifying school, where he finished 11th to earn status for the 2014 season.
2014 Notes: Finished the season playing in 24 of the Web.com Tour's 25 tournaments. Had three top-10s and five top-25s, while making 13 cuts.

He finished 69th in the 2014 Web.com Tour regular season. Played in the finals, was T-9th in the Hotel Fitness Championship, T-27th at the Chiquita Classic, missed the cut at the Nationwide Children's and then T-21st that the Web.Com Tour Championship. Finished the series 37th in the Web.com Tour Finals to earn his PGA Tour card for the 2015 season.
In 2015 on the PGA Tour, on November 9, 2014, in only his seventh professional start on the PGA Tour, Taylor won at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Taylor's win was the first for a Canadian-born player on the PGA Tour in seven years when Mike Weir won the 2007 Frys.com Open (Stephen Ames, winner of the 2009 Children's Miracle Network Classic, has Canadian citizenship, but was born in Trinidad and Tobago). So far this is his only top-10 on the PGA Tour, his next best finish is a T-24th at the Valspar Championship.
2015 Notes: Played in 28 PGA Tour events making 17 cuts and that one top-10 finish with the Sanderson Farms win. Got into the FedExCup playoffs but with his T-53rd finish at the Northern Trust ended his year 101st in the FedEdCup standings.
2016 Notes: Played in 26 PGA Tour events making 16 cuts with one top-ten. That was a T-5th at the Puerto Rico Open, he was 2 shots back of the Finau/Marino playoff. Missed getting into the FedExCup playoffs finishing 129th in the standings.
2017 Notes: Played in 29 PGA Tour events making 20 cuts with four top-ten finishes. Best was T-8th at the Wells Fargo Championship, the following weed shot 66-65 on the weekend to finish T-9th at the AT&T Byron Nelson. Was also T-9th at the Greenbrier Classic. Finished 93rd in the FedExCup standings.
2018 Notes: Played in 30 PGA tour events making 17 cuts with two top-10 finishes. Started the year with a T-9th at the Safeway Open and in the last regular tour event was T-8th at the Wyndham Classic which gave him a berth in the first playoff event, the Northern Trust. Missed the cut there and was 123rd in the FedExCup standings.
2019 Notes: Was T-9th with partner Martin Laird at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. His best individual finish on the PGA Tour T-16th a the Players Championship.
