Rob Oppenheim

Born in Salem, Mass., Oppenheim played for the Andover High School golf team, where he made the all-scholastic team. He went on to play for Rollins College. In 1999, he finished in the round of 16 at the U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach, California in 1999. While at college, he was a four-time All-American in golf and in 2002 won the Player of the Year award for Division II golf. Also in 2002, he led Rollins to the NCAA Division II National Championship. He won the 2002 Massachusetts Amateur.
Oppenheim turned professional in September 2002. Since then, he has played on the Canadian Tour, Cleveland Tour, Hooters Winter Series, and Moonlight Tour. In 2004, he was the medalist at the first stage of PGA Tour Q-School but failed to earn his card, though he did win the New Hampshire Open. In 2005, he was the Cleveland Tour's leading money winner and Player of the Year, also New England Tour Player of the Year. In 2006 won twice on the Canadian Tour. Held off Jim Rutledge, Craig Kanada, and Omar Uresti in a playoff at the Barton Creek Classic. Followed that with another playoff win, defeating Stephen Gangluff at the Corona Mazatlan Classic. He finished second on Canadian Tour Order of Merit which earned him an exemption into the Canadian Open.
Oppenheim played in two PGA Tour events in the 2006 season, missing the cut at the Deutsche Bank Championship and T-41st Bell Canadian Open. He attempted to enter the PGA Tour in October 2008 in Q School and didn't make it to the final stage. In 2009, he finished T-64th at Q-School getting him on the Web.Com Tour.
2010 Web.Com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 28; Cuts made - 15; top-ten finishes - 2; scoring average 70.07 (ranked 32nd); money $149,165 (ranked 43rd); best finish, T-5th Winn-Dixie Jacksonville.
2011 Web.Com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 26; Cuts made - 16; top-ten finishes - 3; scoring average 70.05 (ranked 34th); money $129,594 (ranked 44th); best finish, T-5th South Georgia Classic.
2012 Web.Com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 26; Cuts made - 14; top-ten finishes - 4; scoring average 70.18 (ranked 26th); money $132,065 (ranked 42nd); best finish T-4th Chile Classic. Ended the year with a T-28th at the Web.com Tour Championship, where he became the fourth player in Tour history to make a hole-in-one on a par-4. Historic ace came at the 330-yard, 14th hole in the final round at TPC Craig Ranch. Used a driver to register the first double eagle of his career.
2013 Web.Com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 20; Cuts made - 5; top-ten finishes - 0; scoring average 72.20 (ranked 131st); money $23,105 (ranked 162nd); best finish T-11th Air Capital Classic.
2014 Notes: Entered 14 Web.com Tour events, posting one top-10 and four top-25s. Top-10 came in very first start, a T-4th at the South Georgia Classic. Slumped beginning in June, missing seven cuts in a row to drop from 55th to 89th with two Regular Season events remaining. A T-11th in Knoxville and a T-21st in Portland got him to 79th in earnings, but four shy of making the Web.com Tour Finals and full exempt 2015 Tour status. Improved his status in December with a T-43rd at the Web.com Tour Q-School. A hole-in-one in the sixth and final round helped make the difference in him earning exempt vs. conditional position.
2015 Notes: Finished the Web.com Tour season having played in all 25 tournaments, recording one win, six top-25s and 18 cuts made. Was 50th on the final priority-ranking order. Prior to the start of the season, another vehicle struck and totaled his car in Orlando, Fla., the accident causing him a bruised shoulder and no golf for a week. After missing his first two cuts, made the cut in his next 10 tournaments. In late June, earned his first career title with a come-from-behind victory at the Air Capital Classic in Wichita. The win was worth $108,000 and moved him from 70th to 13th on the money list, after 13 of 21 Regular Season events. Made only three cuts in his final eight Regular Season starts, with a critical, missed cut coming at the final one, the WinCo Foods Portland Open. Came to Portland No. 24 on the money list, seeking to earn his PGA Tour card via the Regular Season top-25 route. Rounds of 71-70 led to another missed cut. When the tournament ended on Sunday, he had dropped two spots to No. 26, failing to secure his card by a mere $943. In the Web.com Tour Finals, finishes of T-74th, T-25th, and T-47th in the first three events placed him at No. 50 on the Finals' money list. At the Web.com Tour Championship, made the cut by two shots then reeled off two rounds of 67 on the weekend to claim a T-12th finish. But the computer projections had him 28th on the Finals' money list when he departed the scoring trailer. Dejected and thinking he had not played quite well enough, hopped in his car before play ended and started to make the two-hour drive to his Orlando home. It was 30 minutes later when he got the call that a Lucas Glover bogey on the 72nd hole had turned projections in his favor and that he had snared the final card and 50th position in the final priority-ranking order. The margin between him and No. 26 Eric Axley, who ironically earned the 50th card last year, was $101.
2016 Notes: Played in 21 PGA Tour events making 13 cuts with one top-ten. Best finish was T-10th at the Quicken Loans National. Finished 158th in the FedExCup standings and in the Web.Com Tour playoffs his best finish was T-12th at the Nationwide Children's.
2017 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 24; Rounds Played - 87; in money - 19; top -10 Finishes - 6; Scoring Average - 69.85 (rank 24th); Season money $150,693 (rank 27th); Finals Money $161,150 (5th), Priority rank (9th); Best finish: T-2nd at the Utah Championship and lost a playoff to Nicholas Lindheim at the DAP Championship. Was 9th in the final priority-ranking order. Secured his PGA Tour card for the 2018 season with a 5th place finish on the 2017 Web.com Tour Finals money list. Also finished T-8th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
2018 Notes: Played in 26 PGA Tour events making 11 cuts. Best finish T-15th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner Nate Lashley. Best individual finish, T-18th at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Finished 180th in the FedExCup standings, at the end of the year went through Web.Com Tour Q-School finishing T-125th.
