Scott Jamieson

Jamieson was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He spent four years playing amateur golf on a scholarship at Augusta State University in the U.S. Credits his time at Augusta State University with improving his short game. His dream is to earn a place in the field for the Masters Tournament, having played at Augusta National once a year during his four-year scholarship studying Business and Marketing. Met American wife Natalie during his time at college and proposed to her during a holiday to Amelia Island in Florida. His amateur career culminated with him representing his country at the Eisenhower Trophy in 2006, the year he turned professional.
After a slow start to his professional career, Jamieson won twice on theEuroPro Tour in 2009, on his way to topping the Order of Merit; he also recorded four top-20 finishes on the Challenge Tour toward the end of the year, playing off invitations. Jamieson's 2009 performance earned him full Challenge Tour status for 2010, and he produced another successful season: top-20 finishes in his final six tournaments, including a runner-up placing in the Kazakhstan Open, boosted him to 14th in the rankings, and promotion to the European Tour for 2011.
2011 Notes: Jamieson's rookie year on the European Tour got off to a quick start, as he recorded top-10 finishes in two of his first six tournaments, the Joburg Open in January and the Sicilian Open in March. He then embarked on a golden summer, recording his best European Tour finish with a 3rd place in the Open de Espana, then matching it in the BMW International Open and the Barclays Scottish Open. The latter of these gave Jamieson his largest payday to date, and qualified him for the first major of his career, the 2011 Open Championship. Finished the year 59th in the Race to Dubai with euro523,754.
2012 Notes: Got off to a good start with a T-12th at Qatar and T-5th at the Dubai Desert Classic. Added three more top-tens to end the season, T-8th at the Lyoness Open, T-4th KLM Open and T-5th ISPS Handa Perth International. Finished 53rd in the Race to Dubai standings with euro564,587.
2013 Notes: Jamieson won for the first time on tour at The Nelson Mandela Championship in December 2012, the first event of the 2013 season. In a tournament heavily affected by rain, with par reduced to 65 and only two rounds possible, he beat Steve Webster and Eduardo de la Riva on the second hole of a playoff. A week later, finished T-3rd at the Alfred Dunhill Championship His next start was a month later and he led the Volvo Golf Champions by 5 strokes after 3 rounds, but failed to win his second European Tour title, finished 2nd, one shot behind Louis Oosthuizen. Added two more top-tens, T-5th in the Volvo World Match Play Championship and T-8th at the BMW Masters. Finished the year 31st in the Rank to Dubai race with euro966,321.
2014 Notes: Played in 29 events making the cut in 17 of them with 4 top-ten finishes. Didn't do as well in the Race to Dubai, only able to play in one playoff event Turkish Airlines Open and was 76th in the final ranking. Best finish was 3rd at the M2M Russian Open. Did finish T-8th at the Aberdeen Asset Scottish Open it got him one of the last exemptions into the Open Championship but he missed the cut at Hoylake.
2015 Notes: His slide continued as he played in 29 events and made 20 cuts. But for the first time since joining the tour in 2011 didn't have a top-ten finish, matter of fact only had 3 top-twenty-five finishes. Best results was T-11th at the Lyoness Open, he ended the year 106th in the Race to Dubai.
2016 Notes: Played in 28 events making 17 cuts with 2 top-ten finishes. Both came back to back first was T-10th at the KLM Open and the next week was T-7th at the Italian Open. Wasn't able to play in any of the playoff events finishing 107th in the Race to Dubai. But he did buy a new home in Florida and made the move from Scotland.
2017 Notes: Played in 29 events and made 17 cuts. Did have 4 top-tens as things did get better. In his first start was T-4th at the Alfred Dunhill Championship and T-3rd at the Hero Indian Open. Jamieson enjoyed a great finish to his year. With a T-6th finish at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters, Jamieson was able to get into the Final Series and it paid off nicely to the tune of euro712,831 when he finished 2nd at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, just a shot back of winner Branden Grace. With that and a T-45th finish at the DP World Tour Championship, he ended up 26th in the Race to Dubai.
2018 Notes: Best finish 7th at the Tshwane Open.
