Sophia Schubert

Schubert began playing golf at the age of four when her mom registered both her for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program. Her mom, Delisa, signed Schubert up as a way to learn the game so she could play with her dad, Bill.
She recently completed up her senior season at the University of Texas where she was majoring in sports management. She is a member of the 2018 USA Curtis Cup Team (June 8-10 at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, N.Y.) Schubert began her collegiate career at Auburn before transferring to Texas prior to the 2015-16 season.
Schubert is a three-time Tennessee High School State Champion (2010, 2012 and 2013), competing for Christian Academy of Knoxville. She also helped lead her high school to four consecutive district and regional titles. She was a 2012 Rolex Junior All-America and captured the AJGA titles at the 2012 Music City Junior, the 2013 PNC Bank Junior Championship and 2014 Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship.
In her freshman season at Auburn, Schubert was an Honorable Mention All-American selection by Golfweek, was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team and to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll. She played in all 10 of the Tigers events and led the team in stroke average. Schubert captures her first collegiate victory at the Alamo Invitational and was Auburn's top finisher at the SEC Championship, placing 16th.
She earned All-Big 12 Conference honors and was named to the Big 12 Tournament Team during her sophomore season at Texas. Schubert competed in every tournament for the Longhorns with five top-10 finishes and a T-2nd at the Big 12 Championships.
During her junior season, Schubert was named to an All-Big 12 Conference and a Big 12 All-Tournament Team member for the second consecutive season. She was an Honorable Mention All-America selection by Golfweek and the Women's Golf Coaches Association while recording the team-best stroke average for the season. She captured seven top-5 finishes and first individual medalist honors as a Longhorn at the Lady Buckeye Invitational.
In just her second USGA Championship appearance, Schubert won the 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, defeating Stanford's Albane Valenzuela, 6 and 5. She became the first player over the age of 19 to win the title in nine years and the third Longhorn to claim the title.
Schubert finished up her Longhorn career with a First-Team All-American selection by the Women's Golf Coaches Association and an All-Big 12 Conference selection. She finished in the top-25 in all eight tournaments during her season with seven top-1- showings and five top-five finishes.
She was a member of the 2018 U.S. Curtis Cup team and was 2-0-1 in the 17-3 victory by the United States.
Schubert turned professional in 2018 and made her pro debut at the 2018 Indy Women in Tech Championship on the LPGA Tour, missing the cut, She began playing on the Symetra Tour in 2019.
2019 Notes: Played in 19 Symetra Tour events making 11 cuts. Best finish T-11th at the Firekeepers Casino Hotel Championship.
2020 Notes: Because of COVID only played in nine Symetra Tour events making nine cuts. Best finish was T-11th at the Firekeepers Casino again and Symetra Tour Championship.
Made 18 cuts in 20 starts on the Epson Tour. Recorded nine top-10 results, including a win at the Carolina Golf Classic to finish 4th on the Race for the Card official money list to earn LPGA membership for the 2022 season.
2022 Notes: Was 2nd at the Amundi Evian Championship, her first top-ten on the LPGA. Shot rounds of 69-65-66-68 to finish a shot back of winner Brooke M. Henderson.
