Nicolas Colsaerts

Turned professional in November 2000 on his 18th birthday, three days before the start of the Qualifying School Final Stage in Spain. Successfully negotiated all three stages and won the fifth card, becoming the third youngest player to achieve the feat.
Produced one of the most successful Ryder Cup debuts in history when, in partnership with Lee Westwood in the Friday four-balls at Medinah in 2012, he carded eight birdies and an eagle to defeat Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker. Had been selected as one of Jose Maria Olazabal's wild cards after a series of impressive performances, including a victory in the Volvo World Match Play Championship and second place in the Volvo China Open, where he was defending champion.
A lover of house music who is nicknamed the "Belgian Bomber" for his length off the tee, he comes from a sporting family as his great-grandfather represented Belgium at basketball and water polo at the 1920 Olympic Games. In 2009, he began the season without a category on the Challenge Tour, and intensive winter training at the A-Game International Golf Academy in Brisbane, Australia, at the start of the year paid off when he won twice and had eight top-ten finishes. He then finished third in the Challenge Tour Rankings and climbed to 127th in the Official World Golf Ranking, having started the year outside the top 1,000.
2013 Notes: Had six top-tens including a T-4th at the Italian Open, T-5th at the Volvo Match Play, T-8th at Scottish Open, T-9th at the WGC-Accenture Match Play, Volvo Golf and T-10th at the U.S. Open. Finished 39th in the Race to Dubai.
Played both the European and PGA Tour, in U.S. played in 17 events finished 128th in the final FedExCup standings to miss the Playoffs but finished inside the top 125 on the money list to earn his 2014 PGA Tour card.
2014 Notes: Played his first 9 events on the PGA Tour and a total of 12 events in America and only made 4 cuts, best was T-19th at the Farmers Insurance Open. On the European Tour played a total of 19 events making 12 cuts. He had 4 top-10s, with runner-up finishes that the Maybank Malaysian Open and Portugal Masters. Also had a T-4th at the Handa Wales Open and T-6th at the BMW Masters. Was 45th in the Race to Dubai.
2015 Notes: Played in 24 European events making 16 cuts with 2 top-10s. Best finish was T-7th, he was 97th in the Race to Dubai.
2016 Notes: Played in 30 European Tour events making 23 cuts with 5, top-10s. His first top-10 was T-10th at the True Thailand Classic, it was followed by a T-3rd at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open and 3rd at the Nordea Masters. Had another 3rd place finish with a T-3rd at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, he did it by shooting 30 on his final 9 holes which included a finish of eagle-birdie-birdie-birdie-par-par-birdie. With the finish was able to get one of the last spots in the Open Championship were he finished T-46th. The last top-ten was a T-4th at the DP World Tour Championship. He was 33rd in the Race to Dubai with earnings of euro1,112,918.
2017 Notes: Played in 26 European Tour events making 17 cuts. Was in the top-ten 3 times. First, top-ten was T-3rd at the BMW PGA Championship, the next week finished T-8th at the Nordea Masters. Was T-2nd at the Turkish Airlines Open which climbed him from 43rd to 24th in the Race to Dubai and he went on to finish 30th in the final standings.
2018 Notes: Had a whirlwind start to his year, he got married in December and in February his son Jackson was born. Had his first top-ten with a 7th place finish at the Belgian Knockout. Was T-3rd at the Shot Clock Masters.
