Alena Sharp

Started playing golf at age 10. Credits her parents as the individuals most influencing her career. In 2006, started the Alena Sharp Charity Classic, which annually benefits The Alzheimer's Society of Brant-Hamilton-Halton.
A standout amateur in Canada, she was a two-time winner of the Ontario Junior Championship (1997-98) and captured the 1999 Ontario Ladies Championship, as well as the 1999 Canadian Junior Championship. � Was also a winner of the Toronto Star Amateur Championship in 2000 and 2003. � At New Mexico State University, won the 2000 Big West Conference Championship, 2002 NMSU Invitational and the 2002 and 2003 Sun Belt Conference Championship. Named the Sun Belt Conference Female Athlete of the Year and an NCAA All-American First-Team selection in 2003. Also honored with the 2003 Edith Cummings Munson Award, given to an individual who excelled on the golf course and in the classroom.
In 2004, won the Canadian PGA Women's Championship on the BMO Financial Group Canadian Women's Tour and five tournaments on the West Coast Ladies Golf Tour; posted one top-10 finish on the Futures Tour; tied for 52nd at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 2005 LPGA season.
In 2005, competed in 16 events on the Futures Tour, where she recorded three top-10 finishes; returned to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she tied for 16th to earn exempt status for the 2006 LPGA season.
In 2006, best finish was a T-17th at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill.
In 2007, recorded a career-best 7th at the Honda LPGA Thailand 2007; carded a career-low 63 during the second round of the LPGA Corning Classic.
In 2008, best finish was T-15th at the Corona Championship.
In 2009, best finish was T-22nd at the Wegmans LPGA; recorded her first LPGA career hole-in-one during the second round of the Corona Championship and her second LPGA� career hole-in-one during the second round of the Michelob ULTRA� Open at Kingsmill.
In 2010, best finish was T-14th at the LPGA State Farm Classic.
In 2011, best finish was T-9th at the Sybase Match Play Championship.
In 2012, best finish was T-25th at the LPGA Lotte Championship.
In 2013, best finish was T-13th at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.
In 2014, best finish was T-14th at the North Texas LPGA Shootout.
2015 Notes: She made 21 cuts in 26 starts and ranked 65th on the LPGA money list, her highest showing since 2010. Sharp had two top-10s with a best finish of T-5th at the Blue Bell LPGA.
2016 Notes: Played in 28 LPGA events, making 22 cuts. She had 2 top-ten finishes: T-8th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship and 4th at the Canadian Pacific Women's Open. Finished a career-best 41st on the money list with $446,245 and 47th in CME points. She was 30th at the Rio Olympics as a member of Team Canada.
2017 Notes: Played in 29 LPGA events making 20 cuts and finishing 61st on the money list. Was 5th at the Lotte Championship. She crossed the $2 million mark in career earning with a T-13th finish at the McKayson New Zealand Women's Open. She opened the Manulife LPGA Classic in Canada with rounds of 66-66-70 and was a shot off the lead after 54 holes, but finished with a 76 to finish T-15th. She had surgery on a knee in November to repair a torn meniscus.
2018 Notes: Opened the season with a T-18th finish at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.
