Mhairi McKay

Started playing golf at the age of 4...Credits her parents Peter and Mary, Stanford University Golf Coach Tim Baldwin, and Bob and Gregor Jamieson as the individuals most influencing her career...Has one sister and one brother...Gave birth to son Angus Albert in April 2009.
McKay won back-to-back British Girls Championships in 1992-93. In 1992, she set the 18-hole record of 67 at St. Andrews Old Course. She was a member of the Great Britain and Ireland Curtis Cup Team in 1994 and 1996 and competed in the World Team Championship in 1996. As a competitor on the Stanford University golf team, McKay earned All-American honors from 1994-97. She was the 1997 Pac-10 champion.
In 1997, turned professional in August; in June became the 10th player and first woman ever to ace the 16th hole at Cypress Point; qualified for the Tour by tying for 56th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 1998 LPGA season.
In 1998, best finish came at the U.S. Women's Open, her first LPGA major, where she tied for seventh; joined the LET, and won her first professional event at the Praia d'El Rey European Cup.
In 1999, recorded four top 20s, including a season-best tie for 14th at the New Albany Golf Classic.
In 2000, best finish was eighth place at the Kathy Ireland Greens.com LPGA Classic.
In 2001, tied for second at both the LPGA Corning Classic and the First Union Betsy King Classic; carded a career-low 63 during the second round of the Wendy's Championship for Children at New Albany; recorded her first LPGA career hole-in-one during the second round of the Jamie Farr Kroger Classic, where she tied for ninth.
In 2002, recorded seven top-10 finishes, including a tie for second at the Kellogg-Keebler Classic, finished sixth at the U.S. Women's Open, her career-best finish in a major championship, and crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings; made her first Solheim Cup appearance as a captain's pick for the European Team.
In 2003, recorded a career-best second-place finish at the Kellogg-Keebler Classic; was a member of the victorious European Solheim Cup Team, posting a 1-1-0 record; won the AAMI Women's Australian Open on the Ladies European Tour (LET), her second professional victory.
In 2004, best finish was a tie for 13th at the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola.
In 2005, best finish was a tie for 28th at the Franklin American Mortgage Championship benefiting the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt; returned to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she tied for 34th to earn non-exempt status for the 2006 LPGA season.
In 2006, best finish was fourth place at the LPGA Corning Classic.
In 2007, tied her career-best finish at the Safeway Classic, where she tied for second.
In 2008, tied her career-low 63 in the first round of the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill; crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings at the LPGA Corning Classic.
In 2009, played a limited schedule due to the birth of son Angus Albert in April.
