In 2000, competed on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, where she won the Korea Women's Open, the Hite Ladies Open and captured the Asian Open title for the third time; qualified for the LPGA Tour by tying for 49th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 2001 season; carded a course-record 65 at the LPGA Sectional Qualifying Tournament in Venice, Fla.
From 1999-2000, competed on the SBC Futures Tour, where she recorded four top-10 finishes.

Amateur
Kang's amateur career culminated with wins at the 1996 Rose Ladies Open in Korea and the World Amateur Championship.
