D.A. Points

Points attended Pekin High School and the University of Illinois, where he was a third-team All-American. He won the Illinois State Amateur Championship in 1995, 1998 and 1999. Reached the quarterfinals of the 1996 U.S. Amateur at Pumpkin Ridge GC, where he lost to eventual champion Tiger Woods, 3 and 2. Points turned professional in 1999.
Joined the Web.com Tour in 2001, and in 2004 finished second on the tour?s money list with two wins to earn his initial PGA Tour card. Lost his PGA Tour card after 2005, got it back at Q-School, then lost it again after 2006. Returned to the Web.com Tour, where he finished 16th on the 2008 money list to earn a ticket back to the big Tour. Finished in the top 125 in 2009 and 2010, then scored his first career win at Pebble Beach in February 2011 alongside comedian and childhood idol, Bill Murray. They also won the pro-am division of the AT&T.
Lists his parents and his nephew Carson Chorney as his heroes. Carson has neuroblastoma, a rare, curable form of cancer.

2011 Notes: Had career-best finishes in the FedExCup (56th) and money list (37th). Along with his first win at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, also had six top-25 finishes.
2012 Notes: Lost playoff at Wells Fargo to Rickie Fowler, a playoff which also included Rory McIlroy. Bogeyed his 72nd hole to set up the playoff. Finished year with nine top-25 finishes, 63rd in the FedEx Cup standings and 56th on the money list.
2013 Notes: At the Shell Houston Open, pulled out an old putter he used as a pre-teen from his mother's golf bag, opened with an 8-under 64 that led to a one-stroke win over Billy Horschel and Henrik Stenson. Month later, finished 2nd at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which was won by Horschel. Had his last top-10 at The Barclays, finished T-6th. For the year, was 30th in the FedExCup (got to play in the Tour Championship for the first time in his career) and was 23rd on the money list.
2014 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour events making 12 cuts. Lone top-25 finish came in his last start, at the Wyndham Championship, opening with rounds of 67-65 (the only event of the season he opened with two sub-70 scores) en route to a T-18th finish. Completed the season 173rd in the FedExCup, ending a streak of five consecutive seasons of finishing inside the top 100 in the FedExCup and recording at least three top-10s each season.
2015 Notes: Played in 26 PGA Tour events making 11 cuts. Best finish T-12th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Was 171st in the FedExCup race and 169th on the money list. Finished 77th on the Web.com Tour Finals' money list, missing the first two cuts, then posting T-52nd at Nationwide Childrens and T-35th Web.Com Tour Championship. Will play out of the Past Champion category on the PGA TOUR 2015-16, along with status on the Web.com Tour.
2016 Notes: Played in 18 PGA Tour events making 11 cuts. Best finish was T-14th at the Wyndham Championship. Finished 184th in the FedExCup points list and 178th on the money list. In the first of three Web.com Tour Finals events contested, finished T-6th at the DAP Championship en route to finishing 35th on the Web.com Tour priority list.
2017 Notes: Shot a final round 66 to win the Puerto RIco Open, thus earned a two-year exemption back onto the PGA Tour.
