Dicky Pride

Early in 1994, he rescheduled his wedding day so it would n0t conflict with Qualifying Tournament. Later that season won a Buick for his soon-to-be wife, Kim, with a hole-in-one at Buick Challenge. He worked tirelessly in 2011 to help raise money for victims of the tornado that hit his hometown of Tuscaloosa. Father, Dick, coached Alabama's golf team from 1961-64.
He was a semifinalist in the 1991 U.S. Amateur and lost to runner-up Manny Zerman on the 19th hole. He finished T24th at the 1993 PGA Tour Q-School, getting his Tour card for 1994. His rookie year would be his best year (until 2012) as he won the FedEx St. Jude Classic and had another top-ten finish (T8th Deposit Guaranty Golf). He finished the year 57th on the money list with earnings of $305,769. Between 1995 and 2010 would only finish one other time in the top-125 of the money list; in 1996 was 125th with earnings of $167,852.
He has been to the school every year between 1997 and 2011 (15 straight years), reaching the final stage in 11 years and getting his tour card in 1993, 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2006.
Has been a regular on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2005, '06, '08, '09, '10, '11 & '15. In 153 Korn Ferry starts has made 87 cuts, finished in the top-25, 40 times, in the top ten, 13 times with two 3rds, one runner-up at the 2010 Cox Classic, and one win at the 2015 WinCo Foods Portland Open. For his 153 starts has earnings of $797,744, and his highest yearly position was 5th in 2015.
He had his first top-five in nearly three years in his first start of the 2012 season with a T5th at the Mayakoba Golf Classic. His last top-five was a T4th at the 2009 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee. That got him into the next scheduled event, the Honda Classic, where he finished T7th. It marked the first time in his career he had posted top-10s in successive weeks. In his next start, he finished T20th in Puerto Rico. He made his most significant stride in his comeback at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. Drained a par putt of 22 feet, 7 inches to finish 10-under 270 but then watched as Jason Dufner in the final group made a 25-foot, 5-inch birdie putt to edge him by a shot. His first-career runner-up effort was also a career-high third top-10 finish of the season. He was attempting to set the PGA Tour record for the longest time between victories, which would have been a span of 17 years, 9 months, and 19 days since his win at the 1994 FedEx St. Jude Classic.
With Pride over the $1 million mark in earnings in 2012, he was guaranteed to finally break his streak of having to go back to Q-School and had a PGA Tour card for 2013.
2013 Notes: Made 12 of 23 PGA Tour cuts, with two top-10s. He finished 144th in the FedExCup standings. He played in all four Korn Ferry Tour Finals events but could not improve his status for the 2014 season. Making his 9th start at the Sony Open in Hawaii, he posted his first top 10 finish (19th of his career), with rounds of 68-67-64-67 for a T-9th finish. The next top 10 came 21 starts later, finishing T-5th at the Reno-Tahoe Open. With 32 points, he finished 12 points behind champion Gary Woodland in the Modified Stableford scoring format.
2015 Notes: Split his time between the PGA and Korn Ferry tours. He enjoyed more success on the Korn Ferry Tour, garnering a win and a pair of third-place finishes among his 18 starts, including three top-10s. Made three cuts in five starts on the PGA Tour, with a T-27th at Puerto Rico Open, his best showing. He had his best finish in several years with a T-3rd effort at the season-opening Panama Claro Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. He recorded his second T-3rd performance of the year in Springfield at the Price Cutter Charity Championship. He arrived in Portland 40th on the money list, thanks to a T-18th at the News Sentinel Open the week before. He earned his first Korn Ferry Tour victory at the WinCo Foods Portland Open in his 149th start and secured a PGA Tour card in the Regular Season finale. The $144,000 first-place prize vaulted him to No. 5 on the Regular Season money list. He played in the first two Korn Ferry Tour Finals events, making the cut at the Hotel Fitness Championship (T-69th) and the Small Business Connection Championship at River Run (T-64th) before skipping the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship due to fatigue. He missed the cut at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. He finished No. 105 in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.
2016 Notes: Played in 21 PGA Tour events making seven cuts. He was 206th on the FedExCup points list. Best finish T-33rd at the Wyndham Championship.
2017 Notes: Spilt his time between the Korn Ferry and PGA tours. On the Korn Ferry Tour in 12 events, his best finish was 53rd at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. On the PGA Tour in seven events, his best finish was T-11th at the Barracuda Championship.
2018 Notes: He again split his time between both tours; in 11 PGA Tour starts, his best finish was T-30th at the Barracuda Championships. On the Korn Ferry Tour in 13 starts, the best finish was T-16th at the Bahamas Great Abaco.
2019 Notes: Played in 8 Korn Ferry Tour events, best finish T-62nd Panama Championship. On the PGA Tour, in 3 starts, he made one cut T-74th at the John Deere Classic. In his first PGA Tour Champions event was T-46th at the Senior Open Championship.
2020 & 2021 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour Champions events with three top-tens and finished 33rd in the Charles Schwab Cup. I was forced to qualify to get into events. Pride was a Monday qualifier into his 11th senior start, the 2021 Mitsubishi Electric Classic. Pride surprised all with three great rounds, and his 205, 11 under total won the event, three shots better than Stephen Ames, Paul Goydos, and Kirk Triplett. Pride is the 14th open qualifier to win on the PGA Tour Champions and the 18th player to win at least once on the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions, and Korn Ferry Tour. He no longer will have to Monday qualify as he is exempt for the rest of the tour. He was T-7th at the American Family, five shots back of winner Jerry Kelly. He was 2nd in the Ascension Charity Classic and made a bogey on the first playoff hole. He ended the season with a 30th-place finish at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 PGA Tour Champions events with one top-ten finish. He was 59th in the Schwab rankings and 58th on the money list with earnings of $313,015. Best finish T-10th at the Principal Charity Classic.
2023 Notes: Was T-4th at the Chubb Classic and Hoag Classic. T-6th at the Invited Celebrity Classic.
