Adam Schenk

Schenk was born in Vincennes, Indiana. He grew up on his family's 1,500-acre sod and grain farm. Schenk Sod Farm. It grows corn, beans, wheat, and three types of grasses - Zoysia, fescue, and bluegrass, which his family sells to local golf courses. He remembers turning a seven-acre field of Zoysia in front of their house into his own personal driving range.
When he was 12 and in junior golf, he started hearing jokes about his last name. It sounds like "shank" - the most dreaded shot in golf. Schenk said he has leaned into the dubious moniker; many of his friends call him "Shank." He played college golf at Purdue University, winning twice as a freshman. They collected a wire-to-wire victory at the 2013 Indiana Amateur Championship and was named Indiana Golf Association Player of the Year.
Schenk turned professional in January of 2015. Shortly after, he earned his PGA Tour Latinoamerica card with a 5th place finish at the Q-School played at Hurlingham Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He collected 3 consecutive top-10s in May for a streak that included eleven straight rounds under par. Finished 4th at the Abierto Mexicano de Golf, T-6th at the Guatemala Stella Artois Open, and T-4th at the Honduras Open. Schenk ranked 13th on the Latin American season's Order of Merit for the year, with 16 starts, 14 cuts made, and five top-ten finishes. He would have returned to the Latinoamerica Tour but didn't have to since, in December, he finished T-21st at the Korn Ferry Q-School, giving him limited status on that tour in 2016.
2016 Notes: Played in 24 Korn Ferry Tour events, making 13 cuts with three top-ten finishes. His best finish was 2nd at the United Leasing & Finance Championship. He won $152,327 and was 17th in the money race. He finished 56th on the Priority rank and got full privileges to the Korn Ferry Tour in 2017.
2017 Notes: Made 25 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour, making 18 cuts with five top-tens. He defeated Eric Axley, Kyle Thompson, and William Kropp with a 25-foot birdie putt on the second extra hole to win the Lincoln Land Charity Championship. He earned his PGA Tour card for the 2017-18 season with a 12th-place finish on the 2017 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season money list ($252,022).
2018 Notes: Played in 28 PGA Tour events, making 14 cuts with one top-ten finish. He partnered with Tyler Duncan to shoot 17-under and post a T-7th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans for his first career top-10. He finished 157th in the FedExCup standings and went to the Korn Ferry Tour finals. After finishing T-35th at the Nationwide Children's, he was T-9th at the DAP Championship and then T-2nd at the Albertsons Boise Open, a shot back of winner Sangmoon Bae. He ended the four-event finals with a T-8th finish at the Web.Com Tour Championship. He secured a return to the PGA Tour for the 2018-19 season, finishing 7th on the Korn Ferry Tour Finals money list. It was 12th in the final priority-ranking order.
2019 Notes: He played in 31 PGA Tour events, making 20 cuts and three top-ten finishes. He was 71st in the FedExCup rankings. He started the season strongly with a T-14th finish at the Safeway Open and T-7th at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He was T-7th at the Valero Texas Open and had his best PGA Tour finish with a T-6th finish at the John Deere Classic. In the FedExCup playoffs, he was T-24th at the Northern Trust.
2020 Notes: Played in 24 PGA Tour events, making 15 cuts. They had 5 top-25 finishes; best was T-12th at the Barracuda Championship. In the FedExCup playoffs was T-39th at the Northern Trust; he finished 109th in the FedExCup standings.
2021 Notes: Played in 33 PGA Tour events, making 22 cuts with two top-ten finishes. He was 88th in the FedExCup standings. He was T-4th at the John Deere Classic, three shots back of winner Lucas Glover. Shot a final-round 67 to record his best finish on the PGA Tour up to that point. A month later finished 4th at the Barracuda Championship and held the outright lead after the third round before finishing 4th, his second career top-five on the PGA Tour. In the FedExCup playoffs was T-31st at the Northern Trust.
2022 Notes: Played in 32 PGA Tour events, making 15 cuts with three top-ten finishes. he was 90th in the FedExCup rankings. He earned his best PGA Tour finish to date with a T-3rd finish at the Shriners Children's Open. Held a one-shot lead after the third round of the Shriners Children's Open, shot a final-round 70 to finish five shots back of winner Sungjae Im, who shot a final round 62. Shot a final-round 66 in the Corales Puntacana Championship to finish T-7th, four shots back of winner Chad Ramey. He was T-9th at the Wells Fargo Championship. In the FedExCup playoffs was T-31st at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
2023 Notes: He played in 36 PGA Tour events, making 23 cuts with seven top-ten finishes. he was 9th in the FedExCup rankings. Held at least a share of the lead after each of the first three rounds of the Valspar Championship before finishing 2nd a shot back of winner Taylor Moore. It was Schenk's first career runner-up on the PGA Tour. Held a share of the lead entering the final round of the Charles Schwab Challenge and lost to Emiliano Grillo, who made a birdie on the second hole of the playoff. Marked his first playoff appearance in his 171st start on TOUR. Fell to 0-4 when holding the 54-hole lead/co-lead. Was T-7th the next week at the Memorial, four shots back of the Viktor Hovland/Denny McCarthy playoff. He shot a final round 66 to finish 7th, 4 shots back of the Rickie Fowler/Adam Hadwin/Collin Morikawa playoff at the Rocket Mortgage. The next week at the John Deere started the event wit 47 straight bogey-free holes. With rounds of 65-66-67-68 finished T-4th, three shots back of the winner Sepp Straka. In the playoffs was T-6th at the FedEx St. Jud3, T-34th at the BMW Championship and T-9th at the Tour Championship.
2024 Notes: T-17th at the WM Phoenix Open.
