Cameron Tringale

While growing up, Tringale wanted to become an actor. Has a younger sister and an older brother, Jon, who played college golf at San Jose State University. Competed at the 2009 Palmer Cup. Advanced to the third round of the 2008 North and South Amateur at Pinehurst. Qualified for the 2007 U.S. Amateur (lost in first round of match play). Was runner-up at the 2007 Pacific Coast Amateur. Won two matches at the 2005 U.S. Junior Amateur. T-3rd at the 2009 NCAA Central Regional. Posted T-8th and T-9th, respectively, in 2006 and 2008 NCAA Men's Division I Golf Championships. First Georgia Tech freshman to win the Atlantic Coast Conference individual championship (2006), with alumni that include David Duval, Matt Kuchar, Bryce Molder, and Nicholas Thompson. Named first-team All-American for 2008-09 season; second-team All-American for 2006-07 campaign. Finished collegiate career with four titles. Named the 2006 ACC Freshman of the Year. Turned professional after playing in the 2009 Walker Cup, earned PGA Tour status for 2010 by finishing T-19th at PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. Lost his Tour card after finishing 179th on the money list, but regained it for 2011 by finishing T-4th at the Qualifying Tournament.
2011 Notes: Enjoyed a solid sophomore year on the PGA Tour, with four top-10 finishes in 32 starts. Ended the season with a T-4th showing at the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic in Malaysia.
2012 Notes: Finished T-4th at the Farmers Insurance Open. The second top-10 finish of the season came with a T-8th at the Shell Houston Open. Back in Texas three weeks later, birdied five of his first six holes in the second round of the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio en route to a bogey-free, 7-under 65, and finished T-8th. Notched third consecutive top 10 and fourth of the season with a T-7th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Finished 90th in the FedExCup standings and 75th in the money race.
2013 Notes: Made 16 of 24 cuts, with one top 10, a 3rd-place finish in the Tampa Bay Championship. Finished 79th in the FedEx Cup rankings and 86th on the official money list.
2014 Notes: Had three top 10s, 4th at the Shell Houston Open, and T-4th at the Greenbrier Classic. Also played in his first majors as a professional. Missed the cut at the Open Championship and finished T-33rd at the PGA Championship. A couple of days later, realized that he made a scoring error and called the PGA of America to disqualify himself. The act cost him $53,000. Went into the FedExCup Playoffs 58th in the rankings and moved into the top 10 with a T-2nd finish at The Barclays, up to that point his career-best finish. Played the remaining playoff events and ended the year 20th in the FedExCup rankings and 37th on the money list. Ended his year teamed with Jason Day in mid-December 2014 to win the Franklin Templeton Shootout. In the process, became the 11th player in tournament history to win in his first appearance at the event. The duo finished at 32-under par, defeating the team of Harris English-Matt Kuchar by a shot.
2015 Notes: Finished 2nd, one shot back of winner Justin Rose, at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Also, T-5th at the Shell Houston Open and T-7th at the BMW Championship. Finished 36th in the FedExCup race and 48th on the money list.
2016 Notes: Played in 25 PGA Tour events making 16 cuts with one top-ten finish. Started his year with a T-64th at the Frys.Com Open and then T-2nd at the Shriners Hospitals for Children. In the Las Vegas event shot 66 in the final round, but lost to Smylie Kaufman by a shot when Kaufman shot 61. His next best finish was T-14th in the RBC Canadian Open, CIMB Classic, and CareerBuilder Challenge.
2017 Notes: Played in 28 PGA Tour events making 16 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Was T-8th at the Genesis Open, T-9th at the AT&T Bryon Nelson, and T-6th at the Barbasol Championship. Went to Korn Ferry Finals and in his fourth start was T-5th in the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Because of that finish, secured his PGA Tour card for 2018 with an 18th place finish on the Korn Ferry Tour Finals money list (excluding the 25).
2018 Notes: Played in 26 PGA Tour events making 7 cuts with one top-25 finish. Was 195th in FedExCup standings. His best finish was T-25th at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. Return trip to Korn Ferry Finals and again got a spectacular last-minute reprieve with a T-3rd finish in the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. His 23rd place finish in the Finals money list got him onto the 2019 PGA Tour season.
2019 Notes: Played in 21 PGA Tour events making 16 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 106th in the FedExCup standings. Was T-5th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner Roberto Castro. Was T-5th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. At the John Deere Classic was tied for the lead going into the final round, but shot 73 and finished T-16th. In the FedExCup playoffs missed the cut in the Northern Trust.
2020 Notes: Played in 18 PGA Tour events making 14 cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 82nd on the FedExCup points list. T-13th at the Houston Open was his best finish before the break. Was T-3rd at the 3M Open, three shots back of winner Michael Thompson. In the FedExCup playoffs was T-29th at the Northern Trust.
2021 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour events making 20 cuts with four top-ten finishes. In the final FedExCup standings was 43rd. Was 3rd at the RSM Classic, a shot back of the Robert Streb/Kevin Kisner playoff. T-7th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am and T-9th at the Valero Texas Open. Was T-3rd at the Valspar Championship, four shots back of winner Sam Burns. In the FedExCup Playoffs was T-21st at the Northern Trust and T-52nd at the BMW Championship.
2022 Notes: Finished T-2nd at the Zozo Championship, five shots back of winner Hideki Matsuyama. It was Tringale's his fourth career runner-up on the PGA Tour and his first since the 2016 Shriners Children's Open. Was T-7th at the Houston Open. Finished T-3rd at the Farmers Insurance Open a shot back of the Luke List/Will Zalatoris playoff. Was T-10th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner Wyndham Clark. With over $16.6 million dollars won on the PGA Tour he has made more money than any other player without a victory.
