Jason Bohn

Bohn graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a degree in Finance. In 1992, while a sophomore on the Alabama golf team, Bohn was playing in a charity fund-raiser in Tuscaloosa when he made a hole-in-one worth $1 million. Bohn dropped his amateur status and golf scholarship on the spot and turned professional. Since then has received yearly checks of $50,000, which end this October. Bohn played on the Canadian Tour were he won twice and the Web.Com Tour where he notched one victory.
2003 Web.Com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 18; in money - 14; Top-10 finishes - 5; scoring average 69.48 (ranked 3rd); money $255,191 (ranked 9th); Winner Chattanooga Classic.
Has played on the PGA Tour since 2003. Won in his sophomore year at the B.C. Open in 2005. Lost a playoff to Ryan Moore at 2009 Wyndham Championship but won again at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2010 in wire-to-wire fashion. Had a rib injury at the Memorial in 2007 and took most of that and the next year to get healthy again.
2012 Notes: Was 125 in the FedEx Cup points which earned him the final spot in the FedExCup Playoffs but missed the cut at The Barclays to fail to advance to the Deutsche Bank Championship. Making his 13th start of the season, posted his first top-10 finish, a T-9th at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. It was his first top-10 since winning the 2010 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. At the True South Classic in July, led the field in Putting, needing just 96 putts to finish two strokes behind Scott Stallings for solo second at 22-under 266. In his first start in the fall, at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, birdied half of his holes in the third round, good for a 7-under 64, en route to a T-8th.
2013 Notes: Made 12 of 23 cuts on Tour and finished 113th in the final FedExCup standings. Posted back-to-back, 6-under 66's in the final two rounds of the Sanderson Farms Championship to claim a T-9th with four others. The 2012 runner-up at this event made 14 birdies on the weekend en route to the finish. Had four sub-par rounds at the RBC Canadian Open, highlighted by a 6-under 66 in the third round, to finish T-2nd with three others.
2014 Notes: Had three top-fives, T-2nd at the Shriners Hospitals, T-3rd at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba and 4th at the Wells Fargo Championship. For the fifth time, made it to the FedexCup Playoffs, where he played well enough to stay alive through the first three events. Ranked 70th in the FedExCup standings after the BMW Championship, he also finished 65th on the money list. Announced on February 10th that he had been elected Chairman of the Player Advisory Council by the TOUR?s membership for the 2014 calendar year. The 16-member PAC advises and consults with the PGA Tour Policy Board (Board of Directors) and Commissioner Tim Finchem on issues affecting the Tour.
2015 Notes: Shot a final-round, 3-under 69 to finish T-2nd at the Sanderson Farms Championship. It was his third consecutive top-10 finish in the event and second runner-up spot in three years in Mississippi. Finished T-7th at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba after holding the third-round lead. Shot a final-round 74 to drop down the leaderboard. Finished T-9th at the Wells Fargo Championship to notch his third top 10 at Quail Hollow Club in 12 starts. One week after the top-10 in Charlotte, finished in a three-way T-2nd (one stroke behind champion Chris Kirk) at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, his second runner-up of the season. Also added another top-ten at the Quicken Loans finishing T-4th. Entered the FedExCup playoffs 33rd and climbed to 24th after finsihing T-9th at The Barclays, but after missing the cut at the Deutsche Bank and finishing T-64th at the BMW Championship dropped out of the top-30 and finished 40th. Played in 27 events and made 21 cuts with 6 top-10s.
2016 Notes: Opened his year finishing T-3rd at the Frys.Com Open and T-2nd at the Shriners Hospitals (one back of winner Smylie Kaufman who shot 61 in the final round). Three weeks later was 2nd at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba losing a playoff against Graham McDowell. That would be his last top-10 of the year, at the Honda Classic, immediately after completing his second round, sought the assistance of an on-site medic, due to chest pains and shortness of breath. Was taken to nearby Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, where doctors determined he had suffered a heart attack. With over 90 percent of an artery blocked, a stent was placed in the artery. Spent the remainder of the weekend recovering in the hospital. Returned at the RBC Heritage Classic but has played a limited schedule with only 8 starts.
