Sarah Schmelzel

Schmelzel started playing golf at the age of five. As a senior at South Carolina in 2016, she was an honorable mention All-American. She left school with the fourth-lowest scoring average in history and was the 2016 Bryan National Collegiate medalist. One of her biggest memories was watching Annika Sorenstam shoot the first 59 in LPGA history in 2001.
2017 Notes: Played in 13 Symetra Tour events, making nine cuts. Best finish T-23rd at the Sioux Falls Great Life Challenge and Guardian Championship. Won $8,110, which ranked 99th.
2018 Notes: Played in 21 Symetra Tour events, making 18 cuts with six top-ten finishes. Best was T-3rd at the Symetra Tour Championship, he won $57,584 and was 13th on the money list. Finished 3rd at the inaugural LPGA Q-Series to earn Priority List Category 14 status for the 2019 season. Schmelzel led the tournament after seven rounds, shot 76, and finished four shots back of medalist Jeongeun Lee6.
2019 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA Tour events, making 20 cuts with one top-ten finish. She was 68th on the money list with $251,284 in earnings, and she finished 69th on the CME points list. In her rookie season, her first career top-ten came at the Cambia Portland Open with a 6th place finish, seven shots back of the winner, Hannah Green.
2020 Notes: Played in 15 LPGA events, making 12 cuts with one top-ten finish. She was 61st on the money list with $198,601 in earnings and was 51st on the DME points list. Her best finish was T-6th at the LPGA Drive On Championship Toledo, seven shots back of the winner Danielle Kang.
2021 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA Tour events, making 16 cuts with one top-ten finish. She was 65th on the CME Points list and 68th on the money list with $264,797 in earnings. Her best finish was T-6th at the LOTTE Championship, where she shot 65-66 on the weekend and was nine shots back of the winner, Lydia Ko. She ended her season with a T-33rd finish at the Pelican Women's Championship.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA Tour events, making 20 cuts with three top-ten finishes. She was 45th on the CME Points list and 53rd on the money list with $584,376 in earnings. Shot a final round 64 to finish 3rd at the LPGA Drive on Championship, Crown Colony, two shots back of winner Leona Maguire. Was T-6th at the CP Women's Open and T-4th at the Dana Open, three shots back of the winner Gaby Lopez. Ended her season with a T-41st finish at the CME Group Tour Championship.
2023 Notes: Played in 27 LPGA Tour events, making 20 cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 61st on the CME Points list and 59th on the money list with $477,734 in earnings. Best finish T-10th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship and Ascendant LPGA Volunteers of America.
2024 Notes: Played in 26 LPGA Tour events, making 19 cuts with seven top-ten finishes. She was 35th on the CME Points list and 39th on the money list with $928,966 in earnings. Was T-8th at the HSBC Women's Championship, the next week at the Blue Bay LPGA, had her first runner-up finish on the LPGA, four shots back of winner Bailey Tardy. In her next two starts she was T-8th at the Fir HillS Seri Pak Championship and Ford Championship. She was the 36-hole co-leader at the KPMG Women's PGA and finished T-9th. Schmelzel was 8th at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open, nine shots back of the winner Lauren Coughlin. She was named a captain?s pick to the U.S. Solheim Cup team and was 2-2-0 while playing for the first time in the matches. Lost her singles match to Madelene Sagstrom 1 up. She ended her season finishing T-46th at the CME Group Tour Championship.
2025 Notes: Was T-5th at the Blue Bay LPGA and T-6th at the Chevron Championship. Finished 5th with partner Albana Valenzuela at the Dow Championship.
