Scott Brown

Learned to play golf with his dad at age 3 at Goshen Plantation in Augusta, Georgia. Brown attended the University of South Carolina Aiken, playing at Division II level collegiate golf. He turned professional in 2006, and began playing mini-tours. He played on the NGA Hooters Tour from 2007 to 2009 and finished on top of the eGolf Professional Tour money list in 2009, with three wins, won a total of five times on that tour. Finished T48 at the 2009 PGA Tour Q-School which earned him a Web.Tour card for 2010.
2010 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 23; in money - 13; top-10 finishes - 3; scoring average 70.21 (ranked 41st); money $95,266 (ranked 70th); Best finish, T-6 Rex Hospital Open. At that event, led after shooting a first-round 62 but followed it with a 72 Friday to drop to a T-3. Despite firing a 68 on Saturday, he finished T-6 when the tournament was shortened to 54 holes due to heavy rain. A rib injury caused him to miss five tournaments in Sept. and Oct. and drop from 46th to 70th on the money list.
2011 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 26; in money - 13; top-10 finishes - 5; scoring average 70.38 (ranked 58th); money $282,502 (ranked 8th); Best finish, T2nd Rex Hospital Open, one shot back of winner Kyle Thompson. Ended his year finishing 2nd at the Web.Com Tour Championship. Birdied two of his final two holes on Sunday to break from the pack and finish 2nd. He won $108,000 and the finish raised him from 21st on the money list to 8th, giving him a ticket to the PGA Tour in 2012.
2012 notes: Only make 8 cuts in 24 starts, but had two top-3 finishes, best was T-5 at Puerto Rico Open and True South Classic. Finished 148th on the money list and wasn't able to regain his card at Q-School when he finished T156th.
2013 Notes: Played on the tour via his top-150 status (just by $4,468). In his second start at the Puerto Rico Open birdied the 72nd hole for a one-shot win over Fabian Gomez and Jordan Spieth, regaining his PGA Tour card through 2015 with a victory. Finished the year 88th in the FedExCup race and 81st on the money list.
2014 Notes: Got off to a fast start with two top-fives in his first four starts, T-3 Frys.com Open and T-4 McGladrey Classic. Added two more top-fives, T-5 at RBC Heritage and John Deere Classic. With 30 starts made 21 cuts and was 85th in the FedExCup race and 74th on the money list.
2015 Notes: Had 30 starts and made 18 cuts with 3 top-10 finishes. But was T-3rd at the Wyndham Championship. Was 94th in the FedEx Cup race and 87th on the money list.
2016 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour events making 17 cuts, with 4, top-ten finishes. Best was T-5th at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba and Puerto Rico Open and T-7th at the Valspar Championship. Also, T-10th at the Honda Classic. Finished 80th in the FedExCup race and 93rd on the money list.
2017 Notes: Played in 29 PGA Tour events making 19 cuts with 2 top-ten finishes. Birdied two of his final three holes at Riviera Country Club for a final-round 67 at the Genesis Open. The finish moved him into a T-2nd with Thomas Pieters at 12-under 272, five back of champion Dustin Johnson. Had another runner-up finish at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans when teamed with fellow Aiken resident Kevin Kisner they lost a playoff on the fourth extra hole to Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith. Finished 55th in the FedExCup rankings.
2018 Notes: Was T-5th at the CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges and T-6th at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.
