Haru Nomura

With a Korean mother and Japanese father, Nomura moved to the Republic of Korea at the age of five and lived in Seoul until she graduated from the Myongji High School. In 2011, she selected Japanese nationality. Started playing golf at age 11. Her full name is Harukyo. Credits her mother as the individual who most influenced her career. Hobbies include watching television, karaoke, going to amusement parks and hanging out with friends. She also is a lover of spicy food and windy golf. Qualified for the Tour on her first attempt.
Won the 2007 Japan Junior Championship. Low amateur at the 2009 Japan Women's Open, the 2009 JLPGA Elleair Ladies Open, the 2010 Bridgestone Open and the 2010 Nishijin Open.
In 2010 turned professional in December; finished T-39th at the Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Priority List Category 20 for the 2011 LPGA Tour season.
In 2011, best finish was a T-25th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Won the Duramed Futures Tour's Daytona Beach Invitational in April.
2012 Notes: Played in six LPGA events, best finish was T-36th at the Wegmans LPGA Championship.
2013 Notes: Played mostly in Asia, her only LPGA start was T-13th at the Mizuno Classic. She was T-19th at 2013 LPGA Q School and earned her 2014 LPGA card by advancing via a four-for-two playoff.
2014 Notes: She was 47th on the money list with $353,892 and 53rd in CME points with 23 cuts made in 26 starts. She had her best finish of the year with a 4th at the Meijer Classic. She made a hole-in-one in the Marathon Classic and won a car as her reward.
2015 Notes: She made 19 of 27 cuts and was 66th on the money list. Her only top-10 of the season was T-10th at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia.
2016 Notes: Played in 28 LPGA events making 27 cuts with six top-tens. Nomura has claimed her first LPGA win at the Handa Women's Australian Open by three shots over Lydia Ko with a final-round 65 that included six birdies on the last 10 holes. She won the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic with a final-round 73 in 35-40 mph wind for a 9-under 279 and a four-shot win. Nomura was 2nd at the ShopRite Classic with rounds of 65-66-66 for a 16-under 197 total, one behind Anna Nordqvist. For the year she finished 11th on the money list with $1,228,319 and was 13th in CME points. Nomura was T-4th at the Rio Olympics as a member of Japan's golf team. She shot 65 in the final round to finish at 9-under 284, one behind bronze medalist Shanshan Feng.
2017 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA events making 24 cuts. Won her 3rd LPGA title at the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout in a playoff over Cristie Kerr after they tied at 3-under 281. Nomura led throughout Sunday's round before making double bogey on 17 to fall one back of Kerr. But a birdie on 18 got Nomura into a playoff. Both players made par on the par-5 18th hole 5 times before Nomura made birdie on the sixth extra hole to win. She had missed the previous year's Shootout due to a thumb injury. This was one of two top-ten finishes in 2017, the other was T-3rd at the Women's Australian Open despite opening with a 75. She had made the cut in 51 consecutive starts on the LPGA Tour before missing the cut at the Thornberry Creek Classic.
2018 Notes: Best finish T-40th ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open. She has suffered from back problems this year, forcing her to withdraw from the Lotte Championship.
