Mariajo Uribe

Started playing golf at age 9 and credits her swing coach, Pedro Rossi, as the individual who most influenced her career. Her favorite on-course memory was when she won the HSBC Brasil Cup because her boyfriend came to watch her play for the first time. Grew up in the city of Bucaramanga, which is close to the border with Venezuela. When she's not golfing, her hobbies include dancing and scuba diving. The top three things on her bucket list are visiting Macchu Picchu in Peru, scuba diving at night with Manta rays in Hawaii, and volunteering with a tribe in Africa. Has her own foundation, FORE, which helps children ages 9-17 with after-school programs to help develop life skills.
At age 17, she won the 2007 U.S. Women's Amateur at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., with a 1-up victory over Amanda Blumenherst in the finals. She is the only Latin American to win this championship. Played college golf at UCLA and won three collegiate events. Was a first-team All-America selection in 2008 and 2009.
In 2008, as an amateur, T-10th in her first U.S. Women's Open at Interlachen Country Club. Also finished T-58th in the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
Turned professional in July 2009. She finished 12th in the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she earned Priority List Category 11 for the 2010 LPGA season, with her best finish coming in the ING New England Golf Classic, where she T-15th. Finished tied for 50th in the MasterCard Classic and tied for eighth in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational.
In 2010, played in 15 events, with her best finish being a runner-up in the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup 2010, an unofficial LPGA event. Tied for seventh in the LPGA Tour Championship.
In 2011, won the unofficial HSBC Brasil Cup. Played in 14 events, and her best finish was a tie for 29th in the Honda LPGA Thailand.
2012 Notes: Played in 19 events, made one cut, and earned $196,360 (60th on the money list). Had one top-10 finish, which was a season-best T-7th in the LPGA Lotte Championship.
2013 Notes: Made 17 cuts out of 24 events and finished 62nd on the Tour money list. Had one top-10 finish in the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, where she tied for eighth. She recorded a career-low 64 during the first round.
2014 Notes: She was a career-best 43rd on the money list with $385,313 and 54th in CME Group points with three top 10s in 26 starts. She T-9th at Portland and the Fuban Taiwan, and T-10th in the Evian Championship.
2015 Notes: Made 20 cuts in 27 starts with three top-10s and ranked 56th on the money list. Solo 3rd at the Manulife LPGA Classic was her career-best finish; she shared the lead after an opening 65 and was one off the lead entering Sunday before falling back with a final-round 72. Won the women's gold medal at the Pan American Games and a second gold as Colombia won the team competition.
2016 Notes: Played in 27 LPGA events making 18 cuts with 3 top-ten finishes. Best finish was T-4th at the Cambia Portland Classic, followed by a T-7th at the Reignwood LPGA Classic. Was 63rd on the money list with $291,267 and 42nd in CME points. She was T-19th at the Rio Olympics as a Colombiaâ??s golf team member.
2017 Notes: Played in 22 LPGA Tour events making 11 cuts. Best finish T-11th Pure Silk Bahamas.
2018 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA Tour events making 15 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 78th on the CME Points list and 77th on the money list with $207,131 in earnings. Was T-7th at the JTBC Founders Cup and T-10th at the Kingsmill Championship.
2019 Notes: Played in 18 LPGA Tour events making ten cuts. Was 97th on the CBE Points list and 93rd on the money list with $141,334 in earnings. Best finish was T-11th at the Marathon Classic.
2020 Notes: With COVID only was able to play in three events, best finish T-45th at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio.
2021 Notes: She gave birth to her son, Lucca, in December 2020 and was only able to play in three LPGA events, best finish T-77th at the LPGA Mediheal Championship. She qualified for the Tokyo Olympics as a member of Colombiaâ??s womenâ??s golf team and finished T-50th.
2022 Notes: Still on a limited schedule, going into the AIG has only played in six events making just one cut, T-28th at hte Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational with partner Sarah Jane Smith.
