Xiyu Lin

Started playing golf at age 7. She also goes by the name Janet Lin. She has played basketball, table tennis, and badminton. Her mother, Du Jing, represented the People's Republic of China in soccer. She comes from the same city and province as Shanshan Feng and calls Feng the biggest influence on her career.
At age 14, she finished T-9th at the Ladies European Tour's 2010 Sanya Ladies Open with an impressive second-round score of 66. Helped China to a 2nd-place finish in the 2010 Asian Games. Played in the 2011 U.S. Women's Open at age 15.
She was a Ladies European Tour (LET) player in 2013 after finishing 5th at 2012 LET LPGA Qualifying School. She was 42nd on the 2013 LET money list.
She finished T-9th at the 2013 LPGA Qualifying School to earn her LPGA card for 2014.
2014 Notes: Lin was 81st on the money list with $127,391 and 77th in CME points in her first year on Tour. She made 14 cuts in 21 starts. She had her only top-10 of the year on the LPGA with a T-9th at the Portland Classic. She won the Sanya Ladies Open on the LET in China, shooting a final-round 67 to beat Charley Hull by five strokes. She was 24th on the LET money list. Finished 3rd at the Hyundai China Women's Open to win the money title on the China LPGA Tour. Lin won back-to-back tournaments on the China Tour in November. Winning the China Tour money title earned her an exemption for the 2015 U.S. Women's Open.
2015 Notes: 25 starts making 18 cuts, she had 4 top-10s and finished 39th on the money list and 29th in CME points. Her best finish on the LPGA was T-5th at the Blue Bay event in China. On the LET, she finished T-3rd at the World Ladies Championship, and then later on in the year, successfully defended the Sanya Ladies Open at the Yalong Bay Golf Club. This time firing rounds of 70, 68, and a superb final round of 65 to finish on -13.
2016 Notes: Played in 25 events making 17 cuts with 2 top-tens. Best finish T-9th at the Meijer LPGA Classic, followed by a 10th a the Honda LPGA Thailand. She was 61st on the money list with $307,078 and 63rd in CME points. She was 38th at the Rio Olympics as a member of Team China.
Lin competed in 6 LET tournaments securing her best finish at the Buick Championship, where she came T-5th. She finished the season in 27th position on the Order of Merit.
2017 Notes: Played in 20 LPGA events making 6 cuts. Had two top-25 finishes, including a season-best T-13th at the Pure Silk Bahamas. Was 126th on the money list. Played in 5 LET events, was 2nd at the Lacoste French Open, 4 back of winner Cristie Kerr. After the season, she returned to LPGA Q School and finished T-56 in the finals, failing to regain her LPGA card for 2018.
2018 Notes: Playing on the LET, she was T-21st at the Oates Vic Open, T-15th at the Actewagl Canberra Classic, T-37th at the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville, T-16th Women's NSW Open, and T-5th Lalla Meryem Cup. On the LPGA, best finish was T-57th ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open.
2019 Notes: Played in 23 LPGA Tour events, making 19 cuts with one top-ten finish. She was 69th on the money list with $250,167 in earnings and was 64th in CME points. Best finish was T-9th at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Ladies Open.
2020 Notes: Played in 17 LPGA Tour events, making 13 cuts with one top-ten finish. She was 56th on the money list with $220,677 in earnings and was 35th in CME points. Her best finish for the second straight year was at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Ladies Open, where she was T-7th.
2021 Notes: Played in 17 LPGA Tour events, making 16 cuts with three top-ten finishes. She was 43rd on the money list with $489,687 in earnings and was 52nd in CME points. Finished T-3 at the HSBC Women's World Championship, two strokes behind winner Hyo Joo Kim. Posted top-tens in two majors, T-7 in the U.S. Women's Open with a final-round 67 and T-9 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Played for the China women's team in the Tokyo Olympics and finished T-9th. She took a lot of time off the Tour as she was quarantined for 21 days before the Olympics and for 21 days after as she went to China for the Chinese National Games, where she won the gold medal.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA Tour events, making 23 cuts with six top-ten finishes. She was 14th on the money list with $1,294,555 in earnings and was 8th in CME points. Made the cut in her first 22 events. She was T-4th at the LPGA Drive On Championship, five shots back of winner Leona Maguire. Finished 2nd at the Honda LPGA Thailand, shooting 26-under 262, losing a playoff to Nanna Koerstz Madsen. Had a stretch of nine top-25 finishes in 10 starts. She was 2nd at the Kroger Queen City Championship, one shot back of winner Ally Ewing. Was 2nd again at the Ascendant LPGA Volunteers of America, one shot back of winner Charley Hull. She ended her season with her 17th top-25 finish, T-21st at the CME Group Tour Championship.
2023 Notes: She was T-2nd in the JM Eagle LA Championship, losing on the second hole of a playoff to Hannah Green. She was a member of China's team at the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown and was 1-2 in the matches. She was T-3rd at the Meijer LPGA Classic, three shots back of winner Leona Maguire. The next week was T-3rd at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Shot a final round 67 to finish two shots back of the winner Ruoning Yin. She was T-4th at the Dana Open, seven shots back of the winner Linn Grant.
