Austin Connelly

Dual citizen of Canada and the United States. Dad Bill born in Canada. Spent summers growing up at Clare Golf Club in Church Point, Nova Scotia while being raised in Irving, Texas and playing at Hackberry Creek Golf Club.
Connelly won the prestigious Jones Cup in 2015 and was 18th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings before turning professional. He lost in the first round of the U.S. Amateur in 2015, but said if he had made it to the finals, he would have stayed an amateur in order to participate in the Masters.
Had a good amateur career and after a year at Arkansas decided to turn professional. Connelly talked over his decision with some fellow PGA Tour professionals, including two-time major champion (and long-time friend) Jordan Spieth. He played on the Mackenzie Tour in 2015 making 3 starts the best finish was T-30th at the Great Waterway Classic. He also made the cut in two of his three PGA tour starts, best was T-73rd at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
2016 Notes: Played in one Korn Ferry Tour event finishing T-73rd in the Panama Claro Championship, then finished T-60th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am and missed the cut at the Valspar Championship. He then embarked on a full year on the Mackenzie Tour after finishing T-7th at the Q-School. In 12 events had 4 top-tens, the best being a T-2nd at the ATB Financial Classic and 3rd at the Staal Foundation. He finished 7th on the tour's money list which earned him a trip to the final stage of Web.Com Tour Q-School. At the end of the year, he finished one shot back of getting his full European Tour card at Q-School but will have conditional status and could play full-time on the Challenge Tour. but missed the Korn Ferry Tour by finishing T-89th. So for 2017 Connelly will follow the path Brooks Koepka did by playing the Challenge Tour and European Tour.
2017 Notes: Played in 17 European Tour events making 11 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Best finish was 2nd at the KLM Open. He had earnings of euro488,163 which placed him 80th in the Race to Dubai. Also played in 10 Challenge Tour events making 5 cuts. Qualified for the British Open and finished T-14th.
2018 Notes: Played in 27 European Tour events making 14 cuts. Best finish was T-11th at the Rocco Forte Sicilian Open and KLM Open. Earned euro216,802 and was 134th in the Race to Dubai.
2019 Notes: Best finish T-26th at the Handa World Super 8 Perth.
