Austin Cook

Cook was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and is a native of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He had a decorated college career at the University of Arkansas. Was a two-time Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and in his sophomore year earned All-America honors when he finished 10th individually at the 2011 NCAA Championship. In 2010, was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. Served as a mainstay in the Razorback lineup during his college career, with 48 tournaments played, a 73.37 career stroke average and nine top-10 finishes. Cook was the runner-up at the NCAA Fayetteville Regional in 2013, earning him all-central region accolades.
After graduating, he turned professional in 2014 and played in mini-tour events. Was a Monday qualifier and qualified for his first PGA Tour event at the 2014 FedEx St.Jude Classic. In his first PGA Tour round, he shot 67 and made the cut with a 73. In the third round, he shot 65 and went into the final round eight shots back. He shot 70 to finish T-13th and earn $102,467. Finished T-130th at Web.com Tour School giving him limited access in 2015.
2015 Notes: The next time he qualified for the PGA Tour was at the 2015 Houston Open. After rounds of 68-65, Cook was just a shot back and playing with Phil Mickelson. He was three under par on the front nine, taking the lead, but settled for a 70. In the final round, he again took the lead early, but shot 40 on the back and his final-round 75 dropped him into a T-11th. He got into the Barbasol Championship, where he finishing T-6th, and that got him into the RBC Canadian Open, where he finished T-7th. Broke his top-10 streak with a T-22nd at the Barracuda Championship and was T-43rd at the Wyndham Championship. Played in seven events with three top-11 finishes, and earned $76,806,

2018 Notes: Playing in his fourth event as a member of the PGA Tour, he won the RSM Classic by four shots. The win secured exemptions into the Sentry TofC, Masters, The Players Championship and PGA Championship. The last time Cook won as a professional had been in a two-day event on the Adams Tour Winter Series, where he collected $4,000. This victory paid a little better. He headed home to Jonesboro, Ar., a cool $1,116,000 wealthier. Cook entered the final round of the CareerBuilder with a one-shot lead, but shot 75 and finished T-14th. Had his first top-ten since his RSM win with a T-6th finish at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Was T-5th at the Military Tribute at The Greenbrier which earned him a spot in the Open Championship. He finished T-28th at Carnoustie.
